After that day one could say that Tae and Jungkook became friends. Perhaps not the best of friends but friends for sure.
Sometimes Jungkook would text Tae and Tae would reply back in seconds. Many times, Tae would spend most of his time with Yoongi and Hobi. To kill some time he would very often visit their restaurant and eat with them.
One special day, he waited for Jungkook to return and they had dinner together. In all this time, Tae stopped mentioning Jimin. Because he knew Jimin was holidaying with his girlfriend in Europe. Jimin did text and video called but Tae didn't respond.
Tae was home - lazying around on his bed looking through random things on his laptop. He remembered Jungkook's words and tried to look for something productive to do. Going through many websites he came across a number of courses in script writing. He always wanted to learn it. But the best institutes were outside their country. He just bookmarked the universities.
Yawning, he looked up at the grandfather clock and debated whether he should wait for Jungkook to have dinner together. Then his eyes fell on the clothes lying around in the room.
"Fuck," he whispered.
Jungkook had begged him to organize his clothes and the room.
Getting up he began to fold the clothes his eyes constantly going to the large wardrobe that belonged to his husband.
Pouting, Tae thought how unfair it was for Jungkook to have such a big wardrobe even in Tae's room. On top of that, he had a wardrobe in his own room too. Keeping the clothes aside Tae headed towards the wardrobe which Jungkook had specifically told Tae not to open since it was too messy.
Sliding the heavy black door, Tae walked inside the wardrobe as if it was another room. He saw Jungkook's all white shirts, t-shirts, and hoodies lined up neatly. The whole wardrobe was neater than Tae's room.
His eyes fell on a diary kept by his series of watches. Tae didn't want to pick it up but he read some words and his curiosity grew.
'My One & Only.'
Curious, Tae picked up the diary and began to read it. It dated back to a few years. The time when they were in college.
'I saw you for the second time today. God - you still looked so beautiful - that smile - those eyes. I wish you could look at me with those eyes.'
'I was right there in front of you and you didn't notice me - just walked past me. I wish that could change.'
'I think I am going crazy - it's been just 2 weeks. Can someone fall in love in two weeks?'
'I am sorry - I took a picture of you - couldn't resist. You looked so fucking gorgeous.'
'I was sitting behind you in the auditorium and you kept laughing because of your friends. Your laughter - I wish I could have recorded it.'
'I think I can't live without seeing you - but why can't you see me? I am right in front of you and yet - your eyes are never on me.'
'I wish I could do something so you would notice me.'
'I sang today - in the college fest. You were sitting on the fifth row but again you didn't see me. You were busy on the phone.'
Tae felt a weird feeling rising in his heart. It was burning. Was Tae jealous?
He didn't want to read any further so he just skimmed through the pages and landed on the last page.
'I am leaving the country today - I wish I had said all these things to you. I will love with no matter what. Today - tomorrow - always.'
'Before leaving - I wish I could see your gorgeous face. Kiss your beautiful mouth. Those moles.'
"Taehyung?" Tae heard the familiar voice and closed the diary with a thud.
Turning his face around he saw Jungkook standing with shock plastered on his face.
Gulping, Tae put the diary by Jungkook's perfume, "Um - I - I know you said not to open this. But - but - are you - what is this Jungkook? Are you in love with someone?"
Jungkook blinked and didn't know how to answer that question.
Nodding his head Tae understood, "You are - even now. Then - then why did you marry me? Oh - of course for the ministership. I am just a toy that people use for their work."
"Taehyung - its not that - you are -"
Tae moved back with tears in his eyes and yelled, "No - I don't want your fucking explanation. I know no one wants me. Jim - Jimin didn't want me. He knew how much I loved him and still chose someone else. Of course, I can't force him to love me right? You can't force anyone to love you. You - also - chose someone else. Of course - who would choose a loser like me? A whiny baby like my father calls me. I - I am just gonna sit here and cry forever. Never experience love. Perhaps only one-sided love."
Jungkook's heart broke upon hearing those words. His face all pale, "Taehyung - please - I know - that you -"
Tae turned around and saw another huge book hidden beneath the white shirts, "What do you know Jungkook? What do you know about one-sided love? You are fucking hiding stuff here. In my room - what is this?"
Grabbing the book from the top shelf Tae felt a series of pictures raining down on him.
His heart stopped beating seeing those pictures.
It was him. Only him in those pictures. Right from his 1st day in college to his last day.
Tae picked up a picture and finally understood everything. He finally understood why Jungkook married him.
He gazed at his husband, "Jungkook? This?"
Jungkook had tears in his eyes, "It's been always you Taehyung. Always!"
Tae saw a picture of his from the last day of college and felt like his heart was bleeding. He said such harsh words to Jungkook without thinking.
"Jungkook?" Tae called him biting his lip.
Jungkook moved a step closer to Tae, "Yes?"
"Do you - do you still - lo- love me?" Tae asked stuttering, his eyes on Jungkook's dead, hurt face.
Jungkook nodded his head and stopped facing Tae, "Deeply and madly."
