Y/n carefully walks around the fountain to find jimin sat down on the grass, hugging his knees with tears streaming down his cheeks.
He was crying quietly to himself with occasional soft sobs or whimpers.
Y/n did not want to invade his privacy at the moment but she felt the need to console him for some reason. He looked too sad to be left alone.
Y/n slowly makes her way over to jimin and sits down beside him.
As soon as Jimin feels a presence beside him, he quickly starts wiping his tears away.
"Don't. It's fine, let them flow." Y/n speaks up softly, staring up at the stars.
Jimin's head shots up as he hears her voice. He certainly did not expect her. "What are you doing here?" His voice sounds too hoarse, indicating that he has been crying a lot.
Y/n shrugs but then decides to answer, "I woke up and decided I need fresh air. I didn't expect you here. And may i ask, what happened to you?"
Jimin sighs and hesitates, "nothing.. I was just.."
Y/n tilts her head slightly to show that she's listening, "speak up, jimin. It's fine, I may be able to help you."
Jimin shakes his head with a slightly harsh chuckle, "You can't."
Y/n raises her eyebrows, "and how are you so sure about it?"
Jimin looks up at the stars, "I just am."
They both sit in silence, stargazing, for a few minutes as Jimin's quiet tears make their way out of the corner every now and then.
Jimin speaks up, breaking the calm silence, "We had a test last week. A class test."
Y/n looks at him with confusion but stays quiet, letting him continue.
Jimin sniffs a little, "Dad had known about it and told me and taehyung to do well. Today we were to get the results. But since me and taehyung did not go to school, we didn't know our results. Neither did we check our mails."
He blinks a few times to clear his vision that was getting blurry from the fresh building up tears, "Dad got to know about our score somehow before us and he was not too happy about it."
Jimin takes in a deep breath, "He let Taehyung off the hook since he scored 29 out of 30. But I scored lesser.. 26. He was not too happy about it. I did try my best but he does not trust me in that."
Y/n knew how strict Mr. Kim could get when it came to his sons. But she felt sympathetic towards Jimin because she felt that if Jimin hadn't done his best, he wouldn't actually be crying like shit over it.
She hesitates a little but then gently wipes the now flowing tears off Jimin's cheeks, "You did your best and that is what matters. Honestly 26 isn't that bad of a score. I'd say you scored well."
Jimin sniffs again, "It isn't enough for him and in reality, that is what matters."
Y/n sighs and stares at Jimin as he calms himself down, "I will talk to him."
Jimin looks at her instantly with slightly wide eyes, "what?"
"I will talk to him. This isn't right."
"No... just leave it." Jimin looks down and starts writing on the grass with his fingertip.
But Y/n had her mind made up already.
She leans back on her palms and chuckles, making Jimin look up at her, "it is nice."
"What is?" Jimin asks with confusion
