(Mia's bedroom on the side)

I opened the front door and walked inside my house, feeling exhausted after a long day. Yet the day wasn't finished. Luckily for me. Please notice the sarcasm.

"I'm home" I yelled and threw my bag in the corner before finding my way into our kitchen.

"Hi pumpkin, how was your day?" My dad asked as he was making salad.

"It was okay, I guess! Nothing big happened. The only action in that school is between me and Justin." I told him as I mumbled the last part, but still high enough so he heard, because he shook his head and hid a small smile.

"But what are you doing home? You're never home at this time? Not that I don't want you to. But, yeah whatever, you know what I mean." I asked and my dad chuckled. My dad is always at the hospital. He works his ass of, since he is one the best neurosurgeons in America, which means he's always at work either in Canada or he's flying to the States, since he's, as I said; the best.

"I don't have any surgeries planned  today, but I'm on call just incase there is an emergency. And since Zoe is coming home for the weekend I thought I could spend some time with my beloved family, and I thought your mom could use the extra help, so why not?" He smiled. I smiled back at him for being so kind to to my mom, because she is probably stressed out because of this dinner party. Which leads me back to why my dad is making the salad? Something that is extremely odd because he never cooks. Wait. Hold on! Did he say Zoe is coming home?

"Did you say Zoe is coming?" I asked with a big smile forming on my face, not being able to hold my excitement for much longer.

"Yeah, she should be here around seven. When dinner starts." He smiled as he cut the last ingredients for the salad before placing it in the fridge in the meantime.

"Yay! Finally, I haven't seen her in like three months" I squealed and did a happy dance on the floor.

My dad laughed at me and shook his head. Mumbling something about me never being this excited over Connor. That's when my mother walks into the kitchen fully dressed in a black elegant dress, that was tight to her body as it went down to her knees, matching it with some black heels. She looked gorgeous, like always.

"Mom, you look beautiful" I complimented her.

"Thank you sweetie" she smiled grateful, but the smile soon faded before she creased her eyebrows. "Have you seen Connor? I said to be back right after school" She asked somewhat annoyed. But right when I was about to answer he walked inside the kitchen and straight to the fridge to get a bottle of water.

"Speaking of the devil and he will appear." I mumbled.

"Hi, mom" he said and kissed her cheek. "You look beautiful, by the way."

"Oh, thank you sweetheart." She replied and I rolled my eyes. Typical him to be so sweet and nice. He has probably failed a test or something and he acts like that to cover up his sorry ass.

"You two have to get ready, and dress nice, there comes a lot of people." My mom said sternly and pointed her fingers at us. Connor only nodded, and went inside to the living room instead, not really bothered over the whole thing.

"Yeah mom, who's coming anyways?" I asked curious. All I've heard of this dinner, is that there comes a lot of people, not names. Plus my dad and mom never gets this stressed out over dinner parties with friends. I just hope there comes a lot, so I can sneak out by the end of the night, without my parents noticing.

"Your dads boss, the one with a son on your age" she said and I groaned. That boy is seriously the most annoying guy I've ever met. He is the type, that think he's smarter than everyone else, he's actually a nerd, and every time I see him, he tries to flirt or something with me. It's disgusting, he's disgusting.
