(Y/N) cursed and could feel panic fill him as he realized how dire this situation was. Oh shit- oh shit! What about Sirona? Is she ok? He grabbed his walkie talkie and pressed the button to speak. “Sirona! Sirona, Dr. Althea! Can you hear me?” He quickly began to run over the the door that separated Sector-3 and Sector-2.
The walkie talkie crackled. Sirona’s voice came in. She was breathing heavily and groaning. “(Y/N)..? O-oh thank God, you're ok.. get to safety..”
“No, where are you, are you hurt?” He quickly scanned his card to get into Sector-2.
“By 049’s chamber. Be careful, we don't have power, there will be lots of SCPs around. And ah.. my leg is crushed. In the chaos when the power first went out, a machine fell on my leg.. please..” she groaned. “Be careful.”
He nodded and put the walkie talkie aside. He grabbed his flashlight and slowly made his way into Sector-2. It was eerie. The rooms were dark and (Y/N) could hear the sounds of screams in the distance. He carefully traced his steps back to the elevator- would it work? Since there was no power.. He pressed the button- nothing. He would have to find the stairs.
He wandered deeper down the hall, jumping at every little sound. He didn't know all the SCPs that were contained here, but if heavy containment opened.. He shuttered. He didn't want to think about that.
Going further down the hall, he paused as he heard the sound of weeping. Part of him wanted to call out, ask if whoever it was was ok, but something was holding him back. He slowly walked over and went around the corner before stopping dead in his tracks. He was looking at the back of a gaunt fixure with paper white skin and long arms and legs. It's hands were soaked with blood. (Y/N) quickly went around the corner, looking away from the creature. He took out his walkie talkie and whispered into it.
“The elevator isn't working. I'm looking for stairs but.. there's this.. this thing! It's pale and thin and has some blood on it. It's also crying. Is it something I have to worry about..?”
After a few moments of silence, Sirona's voice cut in. “Shit.. did you see it's face?”
“No- it's back was to me, why?” He whispered.
“That's SCP-096. You should be fine as long as you don't look at it's face. Just.. keep your head down. We only use the stairs in emergency situations, there is one staircase but it's at the other end of Sector-2..” she scoffed. “They really didn't think through power outages when this built this place..”
(Y/N) shook his head. “Yeah.. that's.. a problem..” he slipped the walkie talkie into his pocket and looked down at the ground. He used his hands to cover the sides of his face as he slowly shuffled down the hall, getting closer to the sounds of the sobbing. The thing was right next to him.. out of the corner of his eye he could see it's grotesque foot. He walked a bit quicker to get by, shutting his eyes for added safety. He paused when he heard a voice.
“Hey, you alright, why you cowering like that?” It was a guard, before (Y/N) could stop him, the guard got closer and saw SCP-096. “Oh god, what the fuck?!”
(Y/N) kept his head down and shut his eyes as hard as he could as he heard the creature start to scream. The guard began to pummel bullets at it. The creature continued to scream and (Y/N) was thrown off to the side as it pushed past him. He felt a warm liquid- presumingly blood- splatter onto his face. The guard was now screaming too. The sound of bones cracking and muscle tearing filled the room. At one point, the guard's screams turned into the sound of gurgling moans. And then silence. The screams from the creature were quiet for a few moments more before the light sobbing started once again. Almost as if nothing happened.
