After what felt like ages, but was only about an hour's run, we were finally reaching the end of the forest and were approaching another clearing. Only this one was man made and filled with the buildings that you would find in a small country town. Only I knew this was a pack village and it looked similar to what my pack's village looked like. Tears start to prick my eyes, but I don't let them fall as I was still amongst strangers and I don't want to show weakness of any kind.

Phoenix stopped just before we left the cover of the trees and gave me a stern reminder of what he expected from me until further notice. However, I could see that he was only doing it more for his men that were around us rather than him thinking I was a threat or anything else.

"Now this is my pack village. I trust that you know how to behave as an outsider to an unfamiliar pack?" I gave him a nod and motioned for him to continue

"Ok good, now i want you to follow close behind me and do not stray too far from me. My Beta will be right behind you as we walk through my village to my pack house just up the hill in the distance." I watch as he points to a massive house in the distance and he continues to give me instructions as I look at it in awe.

"It looks quite far, but it's not actually that far from here. Members of my pack may look at you funny, but that's more because they don't see many visitors, especially not lone wolves, but ignore them, understand?" Again I nod, but he gives me a look that tells me he wants me to be vocal about my answer and so I do just that in a respectfully bored way that gets a smirk from him as I know he could sense my boredom, but that I was showing his pack members that I was respecting him still

"Of course I understand you, we are speaking the same language and I promise to just keep behind you until you say otherwise, but again, if someone insults me then I am going to defend myself and there is nothing you can say or do to stop me from doing that."

With that we all walk out of the tree line and continue up the hill. True to his word, it actually wasn't far at all and did look so much further away than it was. The pack house was still huge though and the closer we got to it the bigger it seemed to grow until there was nothing else I could see in front of me.

It was like it was a massive fortress rather than any kind of pack house I have ever heard of. My steps failed for a moment as I stared in awe at the sight of it, before Phoenix's beta gave me a light tap to keep me walking. It made me jump slightly as I was still on edge from two months on the run, but I knew he didn't mean anything by it.

As we walk inside and I see the grandeur of the foyer, I exclaim

"Holy goodness gracious me, this is huge!"

I hear everyone nearby chuckle before Phoenix turns to me and replies

"Yes it is quite the sight the first time you see it. I promise to give you a tour later, but for now can you follow me to my office please." He motions for me to follow him to my right and I nod my head before I remember he likes me using my voice so I say

"After you."

He gives me another smirk and another nod of the head that told me he was glad that I caught on quickly and then he turns and walks away from me in the direction that he indicated and without missing a beat I follow behind him.

I look around me as we walk down a hallway that was tastefully decorated and was painted in a light blue color that was so light it almost looked white, but it wasn't. There were a few landscape artworks along the walls that were stunning! I can't wait to look at them more closely later as I will be holding him to that tour later.

At the end of the hallway Phoenix stops at these massive double wood and black iron doors that look more for that of a castle rather than that of an office and then I hear a click before I see him push these massive, and obviously heavy, doors open to reveal a huge, but stylishly beautiful office room.
