"WAKE UP GUYS! IT'S TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL!"-Sally called them, banging loudly on Percy's bedroom door.

Mal, who found herself rolled around a blanket, lying on her personal inflatable mattress that she always used when she stayed to sleep at Percy's, suddenly raised her torso at Sally's call, even risking falling over from her bed.

The woman opened the door a few centimeters and, poking only her head inside the room, first glanced exasperatedly at her son, who was still sleeping blissfully, and then at Mal, to whom she gave a smile instead, at the sight of her confused and stunned state:"Mal, are you there? Are you awake and conscious?"-she asked her amused.

Mal scratched her head for a second, thus sinking her fingers into the untameable nest into which her hair had transformed during the night:"err... yes, more or less... I think"-she slurred, searching within himself for the strength to wake up once and for all. Let's say that Mal liked to sleep a lot and even if she didn't struggle to wake up, once she was awake, she still needed a few minutes to connect her brain. The one who really struggled to get up was Percy, in fact trying to wake him up was always a challenge, but Mal loved challenges and also, she enjoyed tormenting Percy until he opened his eyes.

"Good"-Sally said smiling-"then, as soon as you can, try to wake Percy up. Breakfast will be ready in about ten minutes."

Mal smiled back still sleepily:"Thank you so much Sally. I'll use both the light and strong methods to try to wake him up and I'm sure we'll be there in ten minutes."

Sally giggled:"Oh, I bet. I know that your methods never fail"-she concluded and after winking at her, she closed the door.

Mal rubbed her eyes thoroughly and then, before going into action, she ran her gaze across Percy's room and the mess that dominated it, a mess that she had gotten used to, seeing as she and the boy had been best friends for six months now.

Mal still couldn't believe that she managed to stay in one place for six months. That was the first time that she managed to last more than three/four months and the girl was immensely happy, because in Percy she had found a true friend.

Since the first time they had spent the day together, she and Percy had become inseparable. At school, it was impossible to see one without the other, both when they managed to stay out of trouble and also when they actually got into trouble. The times in which they had ended up in detention together were countless, either because of some prank they organized or following some fight, which in most cases were started by Mal, but she couldn't do anything about it: when they provoked her, reacting in that impulsive and violent way was inevitable for her. Furthermore, she found it even more difficult to contain herself when someone picked on Percy and the same thing went for the boy: the times Percy had gotten into trouble for a fight, it had always been for defending Mal.
