Chapter nineteen

Hyunjin POV

I couldn't believe Felix had gone through so much in his former life, it hurt me to think about his past life but happy in a sense that this time on Earth was much more meaningful to him. He was fast asleep when I had a horrible dream, Felix didn't agree with me about staying on Earth together which meant both of our memories were erased. He turned into a total stranger and I hated it, it was like I was watching from another body as he walked away from each other both confused.

I shot awake, looking over to the sleeping Angel next to me I sighed in relief. I know I need to tell him soon about the Demon I met, the book store, and our prophecies sooner rather than later. I laid awake and watched him sleep until the morning rolled around. My mind continuously racing with different scenarios about our future. So much rode on this conversation and I didn't even know where to start.

I gently rolled out of bed trying not to disturb him as I made my way to the kitchen, maybe this conversation would be better over breakfast. I grab some eggs and lightly scramble them, grabbing some bread and putting it in the toaster and laying down some bacon in a frying pan. After I finish everything I plate it and bring it back to the room to find Felix still sleeping. I carefully make my way over to him and place the plates down on the side tables before joining him back in bed.

I shimmy closer to him to try and wake him up but he didn't even budge, he must be a hard sleeper. I start tracing along his arms softly hoping that would make him stir but still nothing. I then just went for it, I pinched his cheek which caused his eyes to shoot open. His widened eyes met my smiling face as I tried to hold back my laughter, Felix groans and rolls over onto his stomach before mumbling something to me. "Ah what was that I couldn't hear you" I say back teasingly as I move closer to him.

His head shifts towards me and he sighs, "why would you wake me up like that" he mumbles out with his eyes still shut. I laugh gently as I tuck a piece of his hair behind his ear, "I tried softer ways but you sleep like the dead love" I say back which finally causes him to laugh a little. I watch as his nose starts to sniff around looking for the source of the smell his eyes land on the two plates of food I made for us. "Gimme" he mumbles before sitting up on his knees, I hand him his plate as we eat in silence.

I didn't know when I should bring it up like casually or seriously? Felix must have noticed me thinking so he quickly pinches my cheek breaking my train of thought. My hand comes up to my cheek and rubs over the sore spot, "I did not pinch you that hard babe" I whine to him which makes Felix laugh before he leans over and kisses my cheek. "Whats on your mind Hyunjin, I can tell your thinking about something" he asks me placing his half empty plate on the table.

I sigh and follow suit, "well I need to tell you something but I am scared" I tell him truthfully. Felix can sense the seriousness of my voice so he scootches over closer to me, "whatever you need to tell me you can, I promise I won't react poorly" he tells me grabbing my hands and holding them close to his body. It was like he was a drug, I instantly relaxed into his touch.

"So the day you left to go home I was wandering around downtown when I stopped at this old book store, when I went in there was no one there, just a bunch of old dusty books. I don't know why I went in but it was like something was drawing me there I guess. I was going up the one aisle and I came across a book unlike the others, it was brand new looking and not worn or anything. I grabbed it and the title was "When a Demon meets an Angel". I thought it was weird ya know like how in this whole book store I found the one book that could pertain to us". I take a deep breath and look over to Felix who seems fixated on every word that comes out of my mouth.

"When I looked through the book it explained that we were banished together for a reason, for a purpose. We are soulmates Felix. Our times on earth originally were not our time and we were meant to meet like we did." I tell him and watch as a smile creeps onto his face, "do you really mean it, do you mean we are soulmates" he asks me his tone filled with hope. I nod back to him, "this is insane Hyunjin, Angels always use to talk about the soulmates down on earth and how perfect they were for each other. This is incredible that we found each other, I can't believe it. Why were you scared to tell me" he asks me, still sounding confused.

"Well I didn't finish, yes we are soulmates but we have a choice. The choice has to be unanimous, if one of us lies or falters then something really bad will happen. We have to decide first if we want to spend the rest of our lives here on Earth together or go our separate ways. When we return to our original places we will be given anything and everything we could ever hope for. Happiness and peace for the rest of eternity but we have to do it separately. For me, I would be free of the contract I made with the Devil. For you, it would mean becoming a more powerful Angel, in charge of more basically acting as God second hand". I tell him and watch as his eyes shift down to our hands still intertwined with each other.

"If we don't make a decision, one that is unanimous on both parts then we would be punished. Our memories erased of each other, it would be like we never met each other, we would never be in love or even know the other's name" I finish as I watch his brain turn with more questions than answers. "So basically we have to decide truthfully what we want and if one of us is lying for the others sake then we would forget everything" he mumbles out obviously still trying to comprehend everything.

"I need some time to think about this, is there a deadline or anything for our decision" he asks quietly as I shake my head. "No and when I left I turned around and the store was gone so it's not like we can get any more answers" I say back to him and he just nods. "Felix, I just want you to know. No matter what you decide I will be fine with it" I try to reassure him but he pulls away from me. "Isn't that the point of the decision, we can't do this for the other person or else we both lose" he says back a little bit harsher. "I see what they were doing when they made the rules, this is going to be hard. But it doesn't change my mind, truthfully I would rather spend my last years with you here on Earth. Living our lives as Humans, buying a house, having kids who will eventually have grandkids, us going on endless vacations with them and just having a perfect normal Human life" I tell him, taking his hands back into mine.

He smiles back at me as tears flow down his face, "I am so happy to have met you Hyunjin" he whispers to me before his lips connect with mine. Screw the underworld, screw the power and higher position. All I ever needed was Felix, but I needed to make sure when the time came he would choose me too. Not having any regrets about the other choice.
