Augustine's POV
"Ding!!"
My phone buzzed on my bed as a notification popped up. It was a message from my best-friend, Winnie. I felt the corner of my lips perk up. I snatched my phone immediately and lifted my torso off the bed. I tapped on the message and quickly put in my passcode.
Winnie 😛: Hey Auggie!!! 😊
The message from Winnie read. My finger roughly danced across the phone's keyboard with speed and responded.
Auggie Wuggie: Hey
Winnie 😛: Whatcha doinggggg? :3
Winnie questioned in seconds.
Auggie Wuggie: Nothing just laying in bed
Winnie was currently at the university that I wanted to go. I was proud of him, though im still a bit envious. But, I did get into the national hockey team, and got into another great Uni. Winnie was currently in Ontario, going to the University of Waterloo. I was still in Saskatchewan... I do have a game in Ontario soon... Just when I was in the middle of a thought, Winnie texted me back.
Winnie 😛: Ooh how productive of us
Winnie 😛: both laying in bed 😇💙
I chuckled at the message. My heartbeat fastened, and a big grin appeared on my face... Wait, what. I realized how stupid I was being, and faded my smile into a weak one. My heartbeat dropped, and went back to normal. I sighed.
I was about to respond when Winnie sent another message that peaked my interest.
Winnie 😛: I heard your team would be coming to Ontario to play! I promise I'll be there :) and if you want... you can come to my house for that week!!! My mom asked yours 😡
Winnie: WRONG EMOJI!!! 😋*
My face widened in a mix of surprise and pure happiness. I probably gasped so loudly and dramatically that my mom from downstairs yelled, "ARE YOU ALRIGHT AUGGIE!?" I winced, and yelled back with a stutter, "Y-Yeah!!!" Before going back into thought.
Winnie knew that I was playing in Ontario?
And I could come to his new house, dream come true! I really missed Winnie, we hadn't seen each other in person in a year! I couldn't wait.
Auggie Wuggie: lol ok im excited now
