The next morning, you wake up to one of the worst hangovers in your life.

You fish around for your phone in the covers, the house is quiet without Ayami. Tapping it on, you groan in annoyance.

Ena Chizu: Fuyuki-san, how are you and your sister? Just letting you know there is a workplace dinner tonight, but if you're not up to it, I'll let them know!

Y/N: We're good, thank you. And you? Who are you going with?

Ena Chizu: Ah, dont worry about me! I'll be able to socialise at the event after all.

You want to believe her, but knowing Chizu's naive nature, you thought it'd be best to come along. Especially if it meant keeping her away from Sato.

Y/N: I'll be there. See you.

Ena Chizu: Okay! See you, Fuyuki-san :D!

You sigh, rolling back into bed.

A couple of hours later.

Seeing you step out of the restaurant back exit, lined at the alley way, Ayami wouldve said that you haven't learned your lesson from last time.

You need to differ.

Because unlike later time, you anticipate Sato coming after you. And unlike last time, you had a cute little bottle of pepper spray tucked into your purse. For now though, you reach into your purse for your favourite brand of cigarettes, placing one in between your lips before shuffling around for a lighter.

Steps sound and your hand wraps itself on the pepper spray instead.

Sanzu hummed against the cold air, breath swirling into small puffs of condensation. He'd taken his bike tonight, one of his motorcycles at least, after trailing you for a week in less inauspicious vehicles. With only his suit in without a blazer, the chilly night air started to creep into this early spring evening.

This was the first time he'd ever seen you dress up. He wanted to rub one out just from looking at the short black dress, lined with lace that cut itself off mid thigh. Your skin is accented by your jewellery that sat h so prettily on your collarbone.

But the chase was fun and he was going to savour this moment. Maybe he could find out what exactly pulled him towards you-though he was already sure it was the way your mouth moved, the words that left your lips, how your hair rested against your thin and breakable neck. He wanted to be the necklace you wore and fiddled with as a toy as you left the restaurant, immediately going for a cigarette.

It was a bit harder to see you from this distance, with how you leaned up against the dark alleyway wall, but the man who followed you was unmistakably familiar with you as he headed towards you. Sanzu flipped the bike off, otherwise his hand holding the throttle might've clenched it and revved it hard.

The man's four at most-you could do a lot better.

Bitter thoughts swirl in his head, snapping queen he takes note of your defensive position-so subtle it was barely noticeable. How your feet shifted to point away from the man, your hands still resting in your purse-if he were any closer he'd bet the clothes off his back that your face was twisted into the same fake smile you gave your patients.

Maybe he could let himself into your life a little earlier than planned.

Without looking away, one hand twists his key back into place, and the other speed dials Ran.
