History:
Skin Shifters have the ability to shed their skin and morph into a person or animal they want. When Skin Shifters shed their skin, its similar on how a snake shed their skin. When Shifting into another person, its common that they kill the person they are shifting into, but not always. Note that skinwalkers voluntarily assume this role — it's not a curse, like being a werewolf.
Some might also call a Skin Shifter A Skinwalker. But instead of using the actual skin of the person or animal, it takes on the form itself.
In some lore, Skin shifters are witches that can take forms they desire, some lore states that they are just born with the ability.
How to kill:
The Navajo agree that skin-walkers are hard to kill. According to them, the best way to kill a skin-walker is to get a shaman who knows about good magic to do certain spells and rituals that can return a skin-walker's evil back to them. Others think that skin-walkers can be killed by bullets dipped in white ash.
Other parts of the history says the only way to kill a skinwalker is to find out its true identity and say its name to its face. The Skinwalker will then slowly wither and die.
The ways the kill them, and there overall lore is different in different parts of the world. However, some things always stay the same when it comes to them.
Where to find them:
The Navajo Nation is in Utah, some say that is where is originated. Theoretically, Skinshifters could be found anywhere and not in and particular part of the world.
