Accidentally Married

Chapter 27

As I showered my legs were still slightly weak. My mind was foggy, but my body felt amazing, although I couldn't pinpoint where I ached the throbbing between my legs was enough to keep my mind from wondering about what was going on between him and me. I washed up, stepped out and admired the glow on my face before getting dressed and jumping in bed before he finds me awake. 

As much as loved what happened earlier, I'm left with more questions than answers. Does he feel something for me or was he just horny? Maybe the contract rules are too strict, and he has no option but to make do with what is at home. 

The warmth I felt earlier in my heart is long gone as my chest begins to hurt due to my overwilling thoughts. Can't believe I was stupid enough to think of it as anything more than lust.  Cry is all I can do as my heart bears the consequences of my impulsive actions. Can't believe I was pathetic enough to think anything more of it. Once the contract is over, he won't even look twice in my direction. Perhaps I have gotten to emotionally attached to him because of living together. 

I don't know when I fall asleep, but I'm woken by the feeling of fingers running down my hair line. " hmmm"

" Tu sei così bella, " translation 'you're so beautiful'

I rub my eyes and see Daniel kneeled at the side of the bed with his hand massaging my sculp. He presses a kiss on the side of my head. "You almost slept the whole day away love," the sweetness in his voice melts my heart. " Come, I warmed up some food for you to eat. Ill quickly freshen up and meet you downstairs, okay? " I nod and silently watch as gets up and walks into the bathroom. 

Before going downstairs, I stop by at Nonas room. I wave at the nurse, and she smiles back. Nona is asleep in her bed. My heart sinks but I push the negatives thoughts away and just watch her sleep for a while. " How is she? "

" she's doing okay, the medication helps with the pain, " 

I nod and leave the room before my eyes tear up. My life is so confusing, the dynamic has changed dramatically in a short period of time, and I haven't had much time to process it. I need a breather. I find the food on the living room table next to my favorite chair. Halfway through eating I decide to call. Nervously I dial the number, lowkey hoping it goes to voice mail, but they pick up after two rings.

" Yes hello, " 

" Hi, " I say.

" Amanda? Is that you girl? " The slight excitement in her voice makes brings down my nerves. "How are you? "

" Yeah, it's me. I'm okay and you, " I sigh and continue eating. 

" I'm good just been occupied with work, you know newbie stuff. " She says through her background noise. " Girl, why didn't you tell me Anna was such a bitch, "

I can't help but laugh. " Hope they aren't giving you much trouble, they are just mean like that, "

" Nothing I can't handle, " she exclaims. " You got plans tomorrow night?" 

" No not really, why? "

" Good, I'll pick you up around 6pm, is that okay, "

" Uhm okay, that's okay, "

" Alright, goodnight then love,"

" Night, " I say before hanging up

I almost jump out of my seat when I notice Daniel standing behind me. " Jezz, you scared me, when did you get here?" 

" a while ago, " His tone is off and body language is completely different from before. " Who were you talking to? "

" A work friend, " I answer before finishing off my food. He doesn't say anything after that and finds a seat on the sofa and starts typing on his phone. He doesn't speak initiate any conversation after that. I washed my dishes and went to the room, and he wasn't there, probably in his office working. I lay in bed with my eyes closed subconsciously waiting for him to come to bed but fell asleep before he come.
