19 [FINAL]

The day that I was to officially leave my pack it
rained. In fact it poured so badly that the ceremony
had to be hosted inside the training arena. The
atmosphere was lighter than it had been in a long time since the king and queen left yesterday. My pack milled around happily, no longer under the scrutiny of royals, but no one knew what was coming. So it didn't surprise me when Taehyung and I stood up on the stage and everyone gave us bewildered looks.

I became jittery all of the sudden. I could look at
each one of my pack members and easily recall
their name and title. I knew their families and their
histories. And they knew me just as well, I worked
my whole life to make sure my pack not only saw
me as a leader but also as a friend. And now that
was all going to be over. I was going to board a plane tomorrow and I would leave my pack behind. I would be going to a new country in a new continent and I would be thrown into a castle I had only seen in the middle of the night.

"It's okay Jennie." Taehyung whispered in my ear, giving my hand a soft squeeze, "You need to do this."

"I know," I murmured back.

But knowing what had to be done didn't make looking
at my pack mate's faces any easier or less heart
breaking.

"Well, hello everyone." I said, my voice echoing
through the hall. I tried to smile as I spoke but it
wavered and my members began to look concerned,"I know that no one has any idea why I gathered
you all here today, but it's simply to make an
announcement. As you know, the royals have been
here and my mate, Taehyung, is the heir to the throne."

My eyes began to water and I blinked rapidly to hold back the tears, "I'm sorry to say that we will have to be leaving you as we have to go to Germany and fulfill our duties to the throne."

My pack looked horrified and it made my heart twist in my chest. For a moment I debated telling everyone that it was just a joke and that I was not going anywhere. But Taehyung tugged me against his side and I knew that I had to do this, even if it broke my heart and my pack hated me. the idea made more tears flood my eyes and a few of them managed to escape, getting trapped in Taehyung's shirt.

"It's going to be okay, Jennie." Taehyung whispered. He
pressed his lips against my hair in a quick kiss.

"What are we going to do without an Alpha?" Someone shouted, catching my attention.

"I wouldn't leave you without an alpha." I answered,
trying to pull myself together. I moved myself away
from Taehyung slightly, trying to look strong, "I have someone in mind, and they have accepted my offer, now we just need to know if their mate is okay with the decision." I glanced around and everyone seemed baffled which made me grin a little, "Suga, could you come up here please?" Suga timidly stepped towards me, coming out from
behind the stage and a shocked silence fell over the
crowd, then a squeal and before I knew it Mina
was on stage with us, nearly tackling her mate.

"He's been convicted of a crime." A man protested.

"We can't have a felon running our pack."

"Absolutely not," I agreed, "But as far as the crimes Suga has committed they were both minor and
excusable. He was simply doing what he was told.

As much as we liked to think we're wolves, it was
human nature that caused him to obey his leader, and
the loyalty his wolf had to the evil alpha didn't help
the case either. You know that I adore all of you
and I would never put any of you in danger. I trust
this man to keep you safe and since his mate is our
beloved pack doctor I think we can all rest assure
that he is a good man."

Mina was startled, seeming stricken by all the new
information, "So Suga isn't going back into jail?"
"No, he's staying right here with you." Taehyung murmured. Mina covered her mouth as she began to openly
sob and Suga just lugged her body close and
closed his eyes, probably fighting off his own tears.
