Chapter 1-An Unexpected Turn
“No Jane! No! I repeat No!” Lady Parker screeched, “You never know what happens there, it has been abandoned for over fifteen years. Do not! I repeat, do not leave the house! All of my faith is laid upon you. I trust you!”
With that, Lady Jason Parker marched out of the house as the door squeaked behind her, to another meeting with the Duke of Yorkshire. Her mother was the black sheep of the family.
Yet,
Thoughts circled around Jane’s head, considering the invite. Her ex-partner, who participated with her in most inter-school competitions, invited her to the heavy-metal beach party that was to occur in five hours. However, her mother had forbidden her. Suddenly, an evil, disobedient mind began to emerge, to disobey, or to not disobey? The question remained in her head, craving for an answer.
When,
Suddenly, her mobile phone barked. An anonymous unknown number flashed on the screen. Should she answer? The endless debate progressed until it was no use and the call was answered. Though the voice seemed mysterious, it was familiar, so the conversation proceeded. Queerly, the call only consisted of intimidating instructions. Orders instructed her to have her present at the heavy-metal beach party. If she disobeyed, she would ‘lose’ something precious. Although her mother had forbidden any access to the beach-party, disobedience took place instead. What could fate have in store for her? Prancing along the pavement, she climbed up the gates and walked the path that led to the beach and proceeded towards her nightmare. The party was over! Not a single person was present. “How curious!” she said. She continued to try to call for the anonymous person, when fate took an unexpected turn.
A bloody figure was laid across the shoreline. Her one and only mother lay dead across the sand. Blood dyed the waves red. She tried to revive her, but it was no use. When suddenly her head turned, and a dark figure began approaching her. The dark figure drew out a knife, it attempted to attack, but she fled in the nick of time.
Chapter 2- A Queer Conversation
Jane attempted to quell herself after the experience. Who could have been that dark figure, and why did they do it? Was she haunted by something? She sat in her bed, wondering about what is fate going to have in hold for her. To entertain herself, she switched on the television, but instead of her usual programmes, a news report appeared instead. It viewed scenes of the beach being closed completely and wrapped with security guards. She also saw a lady beside the gates, attempting to make a phone call.
If only she had time to quell herself. Her phone barked again, it was the lady on the television, asking her to come to the crime scene immediately. Jane reluctantly accepted, hoping for the best.
As she arrived, the lady signalled the reporters to leave and approached herself towards the witness, she introduced herself as detective Tanya Jones, a devoted chief of homicide of the New Scotland Yard. When she realized the duchess of Yorkshire was dead, she immediately secured the crime scene, and was determined to find the criminal.
Detective Tanya asked Jane for her witness statement. The reluctant reply was this: “It all started ages ago before the murder was committed. My mom always left at every Sunday to “another meeting with the Duke of Yorkshire.” It was quite queer, as she always returned just before my bedtime. Sometimes I used to sneak into her room at midnight to ask her about her day, but when I try to get in, the door was locked. I search around the house, but she is nowhere to be found, and nobody goes out of the house at such a late hour.”
“So your Mom has awkward departures and arrivals, a queer schedule.” she observed, ‘do you ever see her at a Sunday?”
“Never. Moreover, she never attends Church with me, which is queer too!” she gasped for breath under all the tension, but proceeded.
