Chapter 2 : Bending

Naruto awoke with a stiffen groan before remembering what happened last night, shooting up straight he rubbed his eyes before taking in his environment, all the scrolls were here along with the note, it wasn't a dream! It was all real, finally something good happened to him.
Grabbing a basic fire bending scroll, Naruto headed out in to the open area he was in yesterday.

Arriving at the area Naruto started going through different stances to acquire the basics of fire bending without actually using fire, after 2 hours of memorising the stances Naruto thought it was time to see if the short training was worth it, taking a basic stance for quick attacks he through out his left hand, he expected a torrent of flames to leave his hand but all that left Naruto's hand was a small puff of black smoke.

Looking at his hand in confusion "I don't get it, I did everything the scroll said to do, so why didn't it work?" Naruto mumbled in disappointment, as if a mystic force answered his question Naruto's stomach growled in hunger, a small blush peeked across his cheeks "I guess I should get something to eat" The young boy giggled before looking around "How am I meant to find food in a place like this?" he spoke to himself, Walking back in to the temple he started going further than he did before, peaking in to find thing like, old bedrooms, kitchens and closets, coming to one of the other rooms Naruto found it filled with really old traditional and non traditional clothes, clothes like armour and robes, tunics and dresses all with on thing in common, the four colours red, blue, green and orange were present on nearly all of the clothes, looking over them all Naruto could see why people used to wear all of these different kinds of clothes, they looked so cool! there were even cloths for training in each element, wait badass clothes later right now he really needed some food.

walking further Naruto ended up coming to an open clearing that allowed the sun to shine straight down into a lushes giant garden filled with many fruits and vegetables bursting with fresh colours "Whoa there's enough food here to keep fed for months maybe even a year or two" Naruto spoke in amazement, he just couldn't believe that after how long this place had been abandoned for it still seemed so full of life, there was even a small stream of water flowing around the garden providing food for the plants, the trees and the ground around him.

Walking over to a near apple tree Naruto grabbed the tree and started to shake it causing multiple apples to fall down to the ground, walking towards the apples Naruto started to gather them up before walking back towards the tree, leaning his back against the tree Naruto ate his breakfast peacefully.

After his mean Naruto walked back to the closet that he had found the clothes, since he was practicing fire bending Naruto changed into a sleeveless red open vest, brown shorts that hugged his legs below his shins, a pare of fingerless gloves, open brown sandals and fire nation insignia armband on his right arm.

Looking down at himself Naruto felt the these clothes would allow him to train better than his other clothes, nodding to himself Naruto walked back to his training area where he found the scroll he had left, giving it a quick look over to make sure he had the stances memorised, Naruto spread his feet apart before throwing his left hand out causing a huge torrent of flames to explode from his palm.

"Yatta! I did it!" Naruto spoke as he jumped around gleefully only for fire to erupt from his feet causing him to fly in it the air "WAHHH!" he screamed flaring his arms about as he was sent flying into a nearby pillar before slamming comically face first into it "Ow" he mumbled in to the pillar before pealing back to fall on to the floor.

Sitting up Naruto rubbed his head in pain mumbling about 'stupid fire' and 'who put that pillar there?' before a shit eating grin formed on his face "This is gunn'a be awesome!" he screamed.

7 months later

A 5 year old Naruto who turned 5 about 3 months ago was stood near the hole that led to his greatest discovery in his short life, he had grown a few centimetres in the months that he had spent in the temple, his hair had grown a bit to becoming a sort of unruly mane, he was still in his training clothes that he had found in the closet.
