Paul has had a difficult childhood ever since his mother killed herself when he was young. He then lived with his abusive uncle for many years until finally it became too much and he tried to kill him, luckily Jack and Eddie came and stopped him in time. ever since that day Eddie had taken Paul under his wing and looked out for him as if he was his own child.

The first few nights were hard for both Eddie and Paul as Paul frequently woke up having terror nightmares and vivid dreams of his uncle's abuse, it also took him a while to learn that he didn't need to constantly be silent and in his room. He learnt that Eddie didn't mind his company or him talking about his day, he's just used to having to be in his room acting as if he didn't exist apart from times when he was getting beaten.
