Little don's POV

I have had a long day of trying to find a way to protect my soft shell. I have always been left out of all the rough games my brothers play because of my soft shell. I never spent that much time with them because of it.

But that one faithful day when dad had left the TV on and a documentary with a title that stated The Science of The Technology of Planet Earth something clicked.

I was sitting at my desk scribbling an idea on a piece of paper with my little legs hanging off the chair. "Okay so test one is cardboard!" I say enthusiastically. "Dad did you find any cardboard boxes while scoping through the trash yesterday?" I carefully get down from the chair. "Why do you need it purple? And I think yes by uh the leftover pizza boxes" I smile at him questioning me. "Hehe experimentation."

Splinter shrugged and went back to watching scorpion treadmill. "Hey Don want to hear a joke!" Leo came up to me and was eager to tell me the joke. "Ugh fine just tell me while I look through the pizza boxes" I  start moving around pizza boxes pushing up my glasses so they don't fall. "Okay, Okay, Okay why is 'dark' spelled with a K and not a Z!" I have heard this one before but I decided to play along "why?" Leo smiled "because you can't 'Zee'! In the dark!"

Leo started to double over laughing at his own joke "good one" this box was proving hard to find so I crawled into the big pile of boxes, my little legs scrambling. "Why aren't you laughing!" Leo said confused because he thought it was his best joke yet. "I have heard it before" I smiled triumphantly as I found the box.

"...o-oh" Leo says bummed "why didn't you say anything?" Leo says looking sad "I didn't want to ruin your fun" Leo smiles a bit more "thanks dee." I wasn't really paying attention but I welcomed the praise "you're welcome?" I say in a confused but also a victorious tone of voice.

Leo eyed the box "what's with the cardboard?" I smiled as light glinted across my glasses "experimentation."  Leo looked at me still confused "...what?" I shook my head at my brother's stupidity. "I am going to test to see if I wear this it will protect me or not."

Leo looked uncomfortable "Dee you know we don't think you are weak because of your soft shell you are just as ninja-like as all of us are" I look to the ground and take the cardboard with me "yeah sure bye Nardo" I walk away to my room as Mikey walks up to Leo and they go off to play a game together.

I get to my room and try and use a rubber band as a belt strap but it snaps back and I fall on my butt.

(He was little so they had an extra room and it wasn't his lab yet)

"I am just as ninja-like huh easy for you to say you aren't babied like I am." He decides to use a ribbon as a belt to fasten the cardboard box on. "I am even babied more than Mikey! And I am the second oldest!"

He gets up and gets the cardboard on so it is completely covering his shell ,and he walks around a little bit. The box is to bulky and he slips on a puddle of applejuice and lands on the box which was now slowly getting wet and mushy. "Ugh so cardboard wont work..." I grunt and swing my arms and legs trying to get up but I have sunk into the box.

"LEO!! GET IN HERE!" I yell grumpy as I am still stuck in the box. I hear the pitter patter of feet as Leo runs in. He fell but got back up again pushing his bandana back on top of his head. "What is wrong donnie?" He looks at me stuck in a box. "Oh no! A box monster is eating you! I will ninja you out!"

He runs over to me and starts walloping the box while yelling random ninja noises. "Leo...LEO... LEO!!!" He stops and looks at me. "What?" I groan "the box isn't eating me I just got stu-" I get interrupted by Leo looking at the ground. "Oooo applejuice!!" He reaches his finger down. "NARDO!! ugh just get me out of the box please!!"

"Okay" He grabs my arm and pulls with all his little legs could muster. I pop out of the box and land face first onto Leo. "Thanks Leo...ugh now the box is all wet and my shell is sticky!" Leo looks at the box and the puddle of applejuice and smirks to himself. "Yeah you should go take a shower" I got off of Leo and headed to the shower.

Leo's POV

Finnally he is gone and I can have this sweet juice to myself. I reach out a hand and laugh cheekily to myself. "All this juice for me!" I put a finger in the puddle and lick my finger. "Hehe yummy" I stick my other hand out but then freeze when Raph walks by.

I start sweating as Raph sees the puddle and my hand. I slowly extend it again and dip my finger in the puddle as I slowly bring it back to my extended tounge. "Leo...that is disgusting get your hand away from your mouth!" My finger reaches my mouth and I glance at the puddle and back at Raph with a smirk. I then suddenly start lapping it up like a dog.

"LEO GET OFF THE FLOOR THAT IS DISGUSTING!" Raph yelled his big brother protective instincts were going off the charts. Raph quickly picked Leo up who was squirming in his arms. "ME. WANT. APPLE. JUICE." I say in a demon voice. Donnie walks back from his shower whistling. Donnie turns into his room to see me scrambling in Raphs arms to lick the apple juice.

This is my first story so I don't know if it will be good but I am trying my best here I like to tell myself I am a pretty good writer so I try and put a lot of effort into any story or essay I write so please don't hate me that much if it is awful.
