Who Are You?

I was alive. I was! I could've been jumping around with joy but.... I didn't know where I was. And my last memory, causing me to be excited, was fading. All I saw was.... A person. That's all I could see. Not what they were doing, or who they were. Was this heaven??? I guess not, because it was dark. Darkness was starting to cover everything. But I could make out a body, a body of a girl.

I saw a boy, but that didn't freak me out. A guy was a part in everyday of my life. What freaked me out was finding out I was somewhere, somewhere I didn't know. I screamed, loud. I wanted to eat something, I was hungry. "What's you name?" I asked in a demanding tone, wanting to not waste any time. What time was it anyway?

"I'm... I'm... I don't know!" I began to get frantic, but only turned around slowly, away from the girl. "I can't remember. What is yours?" He would be SO embarrassed if she could recall her own name but he couldn't.

"I don't remember either. How about this. You come up with your name, and I come up with mine. Or we could come up with each other's." She was a take charge woman, and didn't care what others thought. Especially when there only seemed to be one other person at this... Place.

"Ok. I'm...." He looked around, since he was at this exotic place, he decided to go for an exotic name. "Kenja. Kenja will be my name. And you again?" He was excited, since it wasn't everyday he got to pick his own name.

The girl, for now, pondered. The name would have to be good, great even! She wouldn't want to be judged wrong based on her name. She made a bunch of sounds with her tongue, trying to find the perfect sound. "Ayunli is my name." She whispered it to herself, just to make sure she could get used to it, "Ayunli."

"Ok, so Ayunli.... What are we supposed to do now? Like, make a shelter, find others..." Kenja's voice trailed off.

Ayunli knew exactly what she wanted. "Food, let's go find some food." She started walking off to nowhere in particular. "Let's go in this direction."

"Are you sure?" Kenja asked, scared of what might be in their future if they went that way. What creatures could they encounter? Earthly ones? Or demonic looking, scary animals with clefted faces, long sharp claws, and broad strong jaws.

"I'm positive." Ayunli retorted, even though her mind wavered and jumped at every rustling leaf. She WAS scared, she just didn't want to admit that she WASN'T scared.
