Chapter 6

Olivia let Colton in. Steffano had some urgent work so he had to leave early. Colton took a seat on the sofa. Olivia served them tea and biscuits. 

"So Nelson...how do you know my dad?", Olivia asked.

"It's a long story. The pack had been mistreating me so he helped me escape.", Colton said.

"Oh seems like they'll never change.", Olivia said.

"They mistreated you as well?", Colton asked.

"Yes. After Dominic turned everyone against him the pack momentarily mistreated me. Giving me tedious chores and making a joke out of me at school. Dad couldn't take it anymore so he sent me off to here.",Olivia said.

"Oh... so is your wolf still there?", Colton asked.

"Yep she's still here with me. Her name is Laura.", Olivia said.

"Didn't the pack bond hurt when you escaped?", Colton asked,  curiously.

"It did. But after a few weeks the pain subsided. Now I don't even feel it anymore.', Olivia said.

"Well that's good to hear!"

"How about your wolf? What's his name?"

"Oh well his name was Connell. He's not here with me anymore...", Colton said dejected.

"WHAT? What happened?",Olivia asked.

"The Moon Goddess decided to make the Alpha's son my mate. He did not accept me and rejected me the moment he got to know of it. My wolf couldn't handle the pain and died leaving me behind."

Olivia gasped, "I...I am so sorry. How can they be so cruel?"

"They follow their leader blindly and do whatever he says. Dominic takes this to his advantage.", Colton said.

"I swear to God, one day they will face a fate far more severe than the suffering they inflicted upon us," Olivia seethed with rage.

"I'll pray for that to happen everyday.", Colton said as he slightly chuckled.

"Uh I have a request...", Colton asked.

"Sure! Ask away"

"Well I never had a phone before. I did whatever Wyatt asked me to do. Can you teach me how to use it properly?",Colton asked.

"Of course I can. You should freshen up a bit. After lunch, I can teach you all you need to know.", Olivia said.

"Also I have a few tapes with me. Is there any device with which I can access them?", Colton asked.

"Today's your lucky day mister! I was about to sell my old  tape recorder away!  You can use it now since I haven't yet."

"Oh Thank you!", Colton said as he took a last sip of his tea.

"Let me lead you to your room.", Olivia said as she motioned him to follow her.

"This is the kitchen. Go straight and then turn right. That will be your room. My room is to the left. If you need anything give me a call. I have set a towel on the bed. I don't really have clothes that would fit you yet. We can go shopping later.", Olivia said. Colton nodded and went to his room.

He settled his bags on the side chairs. The walls of his room were painted a sunny yellow, graced with unique floral patterns. A bookshelf stood against one wall, hosting two to three showcases. The window boasted curtains in a warm shade of orange, adorned with leaf motifs. A towel was placed on the neatly tucked bed. 

Colton took a pair of pants and a t shirt out of his bag and went inside the bathroom. He took a hot shower bath. He spent like ten minutes in the shower. He felt relaxed and safe. It was the first time in his life he could live in  his own terms.

After a  warm shower, he slipped into his clothes and plopped on the bed. It was so cozy that is eyes threatened to close. Without thinking much of it he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep.

"Get up loser! You seriously didn't think of hiding here did you?", Joel remarked with a devilish smile.

"L-Leave me alone Joel!", Colton pleaded as he was cornered in the restroom by Joel and his beta, Ryan.

"O-o-o-or what are you gonna do huh?", Ryan mocked him.

"You are just a weak omega you mutt", Joel said with disgust laced in his tone.

Joel kicked Colton on his stomach and shoved him towards Ryan. Ryan picked him up and dragged him to one of the cubicles. He forced his head down into the toilet while Joel pulled the flush.

Colton screamed for help but noone heard him. No one...

They then dragged him out and thrashed him on the ground. Colton's face was all wet and he hated the smell he was radiating. He felt disgusted. He just wanted to run and hide.

While he was in a stress of distress he felt a blinding pain again near his stomach. The two of them had started to kick him. He was yelling in pain and begged them to stop. But they never did.

"P..Please leave me"

"Please..."

"Ple..."

"N...el...son"

"Nel....son"

"NELSON"

"NELSON!"

Colton jolted up from his sleep as Oliver kept on shaking him vigorously.

"Are you okay? I heard you scream so I hurried here.",Olivia asked concerned.

"I...I...", Colton tried to say between gasps. Olivia went back into the kitchen and poured water in a glass. She fetched the glass to a now profusely sweating, Colton.

Colton took the glass and sipped a few times. His breathing gradually returned to normal, and he began to calm down.

"I...I am sorry... It's just I had a bad dream...I am sorry you to have bothered you this late...", Colton apologised.

"No no it's fine... I get it... what you are going through is normal.. I used to have nightmares too...", Olivia said.

"Oh..."

"Don't ever feel like you are bothering me or anything. If you need help do ask. I really don't mind.", Olivia said sincerely. Colton nodded and smiled at her though it wouldn't have been visible as the room was still quite dark.

"Thank you.", Colton said.

"Do you want to take another nap?", Olivia asked.

Colton turned on the bedside lamp. He looked at the clock which showed that it was 8pm. He decided he to explore the new place he was in, instead of sleeping. He was also desperately in need of some fresh air.

"Uh...I don't think I can go to sleep right now... Can I take a walk outside?", Colton asked.

"Sure! Do take your phone with you. Return before nine, I'll have the dinner ready.", Olivia said.

"Okay.", Colton said.

Olivia nodded and was going to leave the bedroom.

"Oh I almost forgot-",Olivia said turning around,"If you just double tap on the screen you can see the time okay."

"Oh thanks", Colton said.

"I will teach you the rest tomorrow.", Olivia said and left for the kitchen. Colton got up and wore a hoodie over his t shirt and went outside for a walk to clear up his mind. He went outside the house. The street was lit by small lights in front of each house. It was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. He breathed in the clean breeze, which soothed him.

After standing there for a while he noticed a tall shadow approaching him. He panicked and was about to enter the house when he heard a faint noise.

"Hey!"
