solone was looking out the window as she saw the scenery fly past her. her left knee bounced as she looked. the other cars on the freeway zooming by her door. the car would slightly shake as a car beside them drove past. the other car bigger than the one she's in. solone slightly thought about what would happen if a car were to hit the side of her door. all the worst possible scenarios playing like a movie in her head. the girl is worried it might actually happen now.

as if he could sense her nerves. solone felt a hand rubbing gently against solones clothed leg. connor's hand, placing itself on the solones cartoon pajama pants. the sky was dark, and rain fell down. the night was early because solone had watched the gloomy sunset from the restaurant window, but the rain still made her feel cold as she looked past the warm car window. connor and solone sat in the back of her mom's car.

walker took the front seat as they drove from the restaurant. solone is anxiously waiting for the airport to come into view. connor had left his car in the parking lot of the restaurant. connor wants to spend as much time with solone as he can. knowing that she'd want to be with her family as well. but he still wanted to be with her before he had to wait 3 months to see her once more. plus, solones mom had offered to drop him off at his car on the way back.

solone's attention switched from the road next to her. it is now on connor. lacing her fingers with his. solone looked at his hand in hers as she realized why she hadn't gotten her license yet. unlike everyone around her racing to get theirs.the moment they turned 16. walker and connor were included. but for solone, driving is the last thing she wants to do. it scares her to drive. even more so when walker, i had to spit out the fact that the most dangerous part of traveling on a plane is the drive to the airport. so solone thinks about all the bad things that can happen when your car is in motion. plus, on the happier side, she enjoys being a passenger princess.

solone looked up from their locked fingers as the car turned into the airport. solone sighed as her mom parked her car at the 10-minute drop-off. "all right, sweetheart," her mom said, looking into the mirror above her head. the car doors opening on all sides. solone walked around the car, popping open the trunk. solones suite case looked back at her as it set in how long she's actually going to be gone for.

"oh yeah, i've been waiting to get rid of you." walker joked as he showed up behind the girl. solone ignored him, turned around, and tightly hugged her twin. her head going on his shoulder. walker squeezed her back. "bye walk," solone mumbled as she pulled from his shoulder.

"bye, sol," walker mumbled as he moved to have his mom hug her. solones mom pulled solone by her shoulders. her mom squeezed her as she pulled away. solone felt her mom's hands go to her face, gently holding her cheeks as she looked at her nervous daughter.

"you're going to be alright, baby. remember, your information is in the yellow folder, and you're going to gate a17. you board in about 2 hours, then you're going to have a quick flight to denver, and then you'll go to the vip lounge like last time." solone nodded along with her mom as she talked her through the process. her blue eyes studying her mom as she spoke. "your second flight is at gate d13 and a bit longer. once you get off, your dad is going to be standing at your luggage pickup waiting for you."

"if you get anxious or fuzzy at any time, remember that you have your warheads and the lollipops. in your backpack." solone hugged her mom once more before she placed her backpack on her back. her turing to connor him, waiting to walk her to bag check. "i love you," solone mumbled to her small family. her grabbing connor's hand as they walked. his hands always felt warm in her cold and clammy hands.

the two walked into the airport. the cold environment chilled the girl as she walked in. the place always seemed to make the girl shiver, no matter how many layers she put on. which for solone was 2.

solone stood slightly shocked, as her suitcase wasn't over the weight. she had to pack for winter and earlier spring. "is that a first?" connor joked at solones impression on her face. solone nodded her head at the boys joke about it.
solone and connor walked until he wasn't allowed to go any further. solone looked up from her old, busted slippers to connor. solone pushed herself forward, wrapping her arms around his waist. solone breathed in. her inhaling the scent of his oaky cologne for what felt like the last time. she has to remember it for the next 90 days. connor placed his head on top of hers as her arms wrapped around her.

connor pressed small kisses on solones hair. him soaking in her presence before he couldn't do it any more. over the past few months, solone didn't realize how much she really relied on connor. now the girl is going to have to live without him for a while. she's slightly scared about that. solone lifted her head from connor's chest, looking up into his eyes. him already looking at her. solone went up a bit, and connor switched his hands to hold her sides. solones hands going up into his hair. "i'm going to miss you." solone mumbled as she looked at her boy. "i'm not going anywhere, sweet girl. i'll be right here when you get back. but listen to me." solone nodded as he spoke.

"text me when you get through security, when you get to your gate. seated on the plane, when you land, when you get off the plane, when you get to the lounge, when you get on the other plane, when you land and get to your dad, then when you get to your dad's house." solone smiled as she looked at connor. "i'll be okay, honey." solone looked at connor. connor knew that, but he likes seeing her face pop up on his phone screen when she messages him.

solone looked at connor. her heart fluttering every time she does. no boy ever cared this much for solone. them all but connor. solone stood herself on her tippy toes as she slightly pulled connor's face down to meet hers. her placing a small kiss on his lips. solone pulled away the pinky tint on his cheeks. solone smirked as she looked up at connor. "are you where my blush?" solone proudly asked, poking his cheek with her pointer finger. connor rolled his eyes, and after, he looked straight back to look into her eyes.
i'll take that sweatshirt back." connor pointed at the white north face zip-up connor had given her a few hours earlier. after she complained that his red sweatshirt didn't smell like him anymore. plus, it was his backup, which he kept in his car.

"oh this? i actually got it from trader  joe's. solone asked, pointing at the material. "oh really?" connor laughed. "yeah, doesn't it go nicely with my ninja turtle pajama pants?" solone asked, doing a little spin for connor. the neon green pants and white sweater honestly looked kind of funky, but on solone, they looked great. well, in connor's opinion. "everything looks good on you," connor replied. solone smiled as she looked down, looking at her slippers. her cheeks growing warm. "look, we are matching." connor poked her pink cheeks. solone wrapped her arms around his waist. them hugging one last time. connor pressed a kiss to the top of her hair.

"bye, honey." solone frowned as they pulled apart. "bye, sweet girl," connor said as she walked away, her looking at him one last time before she went up the escalator steps. solone sighed as he disappeared from her veiw as the stairs rose.
at least she left with his sweatshirt, and the memory of his lips on hers. solone wasn't sad though the thought of the boy that she was in love with lingering in her mind. she was forever his.

sorry for disappearing for a while
my family was in town then i got
the flu and a ear infection
so i died. but i'm alive again.
