Atlas walked down the streets of the dystopian city, carrying a stack of books and papers in his hands. He made his way around a corner, walking into an alleyway full of little shops and food stands. As he made his way to the end of the street, he walked up a flight of stone stairs, and stood in front of two tall wooden doors. Atlas knocked, waiting for a reply. Then, one of the doors creaked open, with a taller man on the other side.

"Just in time! I thought you'd never show up!" The man says with relief. ¨What've you been up to lately?¨

¨You know, just been busy getting orders from the other islands.¨ Atlas says. "Those old hags of sellers can be a handful." He sighs, grunting. "Here, I got the books you ordered." Atlas places the books on the side table, and picks one of the books up.

"Did you happen to see the news?" the man asks. "The Officials have been looking for a missing book. I heard it was a spellbook."

"Jasper, you know that if I'd seen it anywhere, I'd just keep it for myself, right?" Atlas says. "Why did they even have to shy away from magic? It's way cooler than...technology." He sighs, walking to the nearest bookshelf.

"You know I'd have to turn you in to them for stealing confidential information, right?" Jasper says. "And you know that I wouldn't want to do that." he says, putting a hand on Atlas's shoulder.

"Yeah, I know." Atlas says, putting the book from his hand onto the shelf.. He grabs a few books and walks over to a table. He spreads out the papers, sighing. "I need to sort these out." Jasper leaves Atlas at the table and walks over to a bookshelf, grabbing a book. He walks back to Atlas's table, plopping the book down.

"It might have some answers to that customer's worries from last week." Jasper says.

"You mean that Immortal?" Atlas asks. "No one's seen them for over a thousand years!"

"But they claimed to have seen them just a few days ago, stealing bread in the market." Jasper says. "Korg didn't look too pleased with the stolen loaves."

Atlas says. "Let's hope I find them! I would like to someday uncover their secrets!"

"That would be cool." Jasper says. "It says here that they got their powers from-ugh! It's blurred out! Of course that part's blurred! Why wouldn't it be?" He pounds his fist on the table in frustration.

"Hey, don't worry. I'll get to finding them, I promise." Atlas says. Atlas walks to the back of the library, and something catches his attention. He grabs the book off the shelf, blowing the dust off the cover. Atlas walks off with the book in hand, walking back over to Jasper. ¨Look what I found! It says that it's a spellbook!¨

"It was THAT easy?¨ Jasper says with amazement. He grabs the book out of Atlas's hands, sighing. ¨I'll take this over to the Officials office.¨

"I'm coming with you." Atlas says. "I don't have a good feeling about this." The two of them walk out of the library and down the street. They make their way to a tall building near the center of the town. They head up the steps to the building, and Atlas knocks on the door."We've come to bring you something." Jasper says. The door swings open, an average sized woman greeting them.

"Is that the book that was missing? The President will be pleased." She smiles. "Now if you would just hand it over to me." Jasper hands over the book to the woman.

"We'll be on our way now. Best regards to the President!" Jasper says. The two of them walk down the steps and turn the corner. Atlas looks down.

"I don't trust them. It seems like they'd be the ones who would use that magic for evil." Atlas says.

"I'm hoping you're wrong about that." Jasper says. "The President and the Officials are great leaders who would never let anything bad happen to this town. You know that."

"Let's go back to the library." Atlas says. As they walk down the street, something catches Atlas's attention out of the corner of his eye. He whips around to the street filled with people, and sees a tiny glimpse of a brown boot with thin blue lines across it, as well as a brown hooded cloak. Jasper puts a hand on his shoulder.

"You saw something?" Jasper asks.

"Nah, just my imagination." Atlas says. I hope so.
