As they were walking into the alleyway, Jay sighs, taking their hood off. They walk to the end of the alleyway and open a door. Jay walks inside and sits down at a table. Then a mythical creature comes up to them.
"Oh, hey Flint." Jay says. "I almost got spotted by one of the locals...again"
"Got the loaves from the market yet?" Flint asks. "With actual money this time?"
"No, I did end up getting away from the baker though." Jay sighs.
"Couldn't you just use your powers to-" Flint starts.
"NO, no." Jay sighs. "I just don't like using my power in public places, and you know that. If anyone were to find out that an immortal being, one that hasn't been seen for over 1000 years, was in their town, who knows what would happen?"
"But I could just fly you out of here, y'know. In case anything happens." Flint says, motioning to his giant wings.
"Right. Like I would let anything happen to me." Jay smirks.
"Yeah, you could just heal me if I get hurt badly. What's there to lose?" Flint asks. Jay walks over to the tv near the closest wall, sighing.
"Freedom. The possible chance that I could get captured and used against my will." Jay says.
"I've seen things, Flint. Bad things happen, always ending in people getting hurt. I could get hurt-" They turn to Flint, sighing. "Got a bit off track there, didn't I?" Jay goes over to the worn out couch, kicking off their boots, and turns on the tv.
"There seems to be a worry that the Immortal is back. We've gotten a few complaints from customers, and two people, Jasper Slaine and Atlas Blue, two of the Officials prized followers, who helped bring back the spellbook that was stolen from the Archives a week earlier. If any of you have seen the Immortal, please let us know."
"Ugh, this sucks." Jay sighs. "They know I've been around." But luckily not where I am.
