"So, I got a break from work. Mr. Wells let me out early today." Atlas says to Jasper on the other end of the line.

"Are you going to search for that Immortal?" Jasper asks.

"Yeah, you know I would do anything to figure out their secrets."

"Oh, well Mr. Wells is calling me over, see you after my shift!" Jasper says.

"Bye!" Atlas walks down the street and turns the corner. He sees the crowded street, and walks down to the alleyway that he'd seen the day before. He hears a door open, and quickly hides behind the corner.

"Another day of wandering the streets." a voice says. Atlas stays quiet, waiting for the person to come out from the alley. He looks down, seeing the same boot with blue lines. I knew it. As soon as the person comes around the corner, they go towards the bread stand. Atlas quietly watches from a distance.

"How's my favorite customer!" He says. Atlas could almost get a glimpse of the person's ears. They looked...pointy? Atlas goes over to the stand.

"Here for the usual?" The baker asks. The person nods, handing them money in exchange for the bread. The baker gives them the bread, and the person turns to walk away when all of a sudden, guards show up.

"You! We have reason to believe that you are the Immortal. Come with us immediately!" one of the guards says. Atlas comes walking over to them.

"Back off of him! He did nothing wrong!" Atlas says.

"It's they, actually." the person says quietly.

"Sorry, but this is none of your concern." the guard says, grabbing the person by the hood.

"You don't just get to accuse people of crimes that they didn't commit, sir" Atlas says back to the guard.

"Just because you are one of the prized followers of the Officials it doesn't make you entitled to tell me how to do my job." Atlas grabs the hood of the person, yanking them back on the ground.

"Let's get out of here!" Atlas says, positioning the person onto his shoulders, the hood falling off the person's head.

"Who ARE you, anyways?" the person asks.

"The name's Atlas." he says, making a run for the food stand at the end of the street. The guard followed closely behind them, knocking over the food stand. Atlas and the person make a getaway to the cargo port and hop on a boat.

"I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME, SCOUNDREL!" the guard yells. Atlas puts down the person, sighing and out of breath.

"...So...who are you?" Atlas asks the person, placing them on the boat.

"The name's Jay." Jay says.

"No last name? Like Hopkins or...?" Atlas says, going to the side of the boat.

"Nope." Jay says. "Say, didn't you say that you found a spellbook?"

"Yeah, but my friend and I returned it to the secretary at the Officials office." he says, untying the rope holding the boat to the side of the port doc.

"By chance, did she seem...off to you?" Jay asks.

"YES! How'd you know?" Atlas says.

"She always seems a bit off." Jay says. They look down, sighing.

"You ok?" Atlas asks Jay. "You don't look too good."

"I'm fine." Jay sighs. "Where are we headed to?"

"An old place I know of." Atlas says.
