quickly, hours went by.
we hadn't noticed it as we were too busy laughing in the sand.

"i could stay here forever" edvin spoke as he fell into the sand, landing in a sitting position and carefully laying next to me.
i giggled as i turned to face him.
"me too" i smiled and he smiled back.
we laid there for several moments, seemingly looking at each others quirky little facial features.
edvin sighed, sitting up and pulling me with him.
"aren't we going to take those pictures now?" he almost said too excited.
"you dork," i paused for a moment "of course we are" my words turned into a smile as i playfully shoved his shoulder.
without warning, edvin caught me off guard.
"hey" i exclaimed annoyedly, yet i still kept that smile from ear to ear, i just couldn't stop it.

edvin hadnt gave me my phone back the whole way back to his hotel.
instead, he sat half giggling to himself like a little kid, and half annoyed at whatever was going on in my passenger seat.
unfortunately, we came to a stop outside of the hotel doors.
edvin looked out the window and sighed before looking at me sheepishly.
"i don't wanna gooo" he whined at me and threw himself onto my shoulder like a child would.
i chuckled laying my head on his.
"i know, but we can hang out tomorrow!!"
he seemed overjoyed at my response.
after minutes, he finally opened the door to get out.
he'd been staring at me for several seconds, almost a lost expression on his face.
before i could question he turned quickly, then turned back towards me.
"are you okay?" i hesitantly laughed.
he seemed frustrated but finally inched closer to me and wrapped me in a hug.
we held this position for several seconds until he gently kissed my cheek.
"see you tomorrow" he gleamed, careful not to look me in the eye, instead looking down at the floorboard.
"see you tomorrow" i muttered back, unsure of what just happened.
edvin got out and walked inside as i drove away.

how did i end up like this? i thought as i smiled the whole way home.
