CURLED UP IN A CORNER
on her bed, bleached blonde hair framed her face. Matilda could barely think straight. Her room was perfect the red banners painted her green walls, the muggle items scattered around that would infuriate the kingsworth's every time they tried to enter when she wasn't present.

The music coming from her record player ran as she tried to block out the world. "Fuck" she muttered upon hearing someone scuffle up the stairs. Switching it off she turned around, there stood in her doorway, the house elf looking at Matilda with a scared look. "Miss black the Kingsworths are waiting for you." She declared. Matilda smiled at the tiny elf "Please socks call me Matilda I hate being a black" The small elf just nodded and scuffled away once again.

Matilda wasn't keen on being quick to attend to the Kingsworths her black Converse littered with drawn-on stars and moons from a sharpie hit each step as she walked.

Once arriving at the dining hall she looked at the long table. At the head of the table sat Mrs Kingsworth if looks could kill Matilda would be dead long ago. She looked away from her towards Mr. Kingsworth, he was lent up against the wall. Matilda huffed, he was worse.

"Sit," he said pointing to the chair. Matilda seated herself down. "What did I do now then?"  rolling her eyes. Over the years Matilda became less scared of them, turned into one would call a brat, Matilda didn't see it like that She was just trying to figure out her trauma so she used the best way she knew. Anger and sarcasm.

"Your father has escaped," Mrs Kingsworth said not looking up from her plate, Mrs. Kingsworth, Agatha was a pale woman. Blonde hair that framed her sharp jawline, she always had a glare plastered on her face.

"Oh, well okay — what do you want me to do about it?." Matilda shrugged, did she want her to congratulate him. "Well, we know you had something to do with it" stated Agatha. Matilda rolled her eyes and scoffed "Really me? — I hate the goddam man" Matilda did hate Sirius, she couldn't explain it. He was her father, kids love their fathers no matter what. This was just different, she guessed she wanted him to suffer like she had all these years.

"I can't believe you ever think that I would do something like that" Matilda stated, Mrs. Kingsworth stood from her chair, this was bad Matilda thought, she never stood, she never moved from her chair unless, unless it was. "Well it's not hard when you don't respect us, we take you in out the kindness of our hearts and you -" Matilda had butted in, "the kindness of your hearts my ass" she responded.

"What did you say to me!" Matilda's eyes widened, releasing what she had just said. "nothing" she muttered, Matilda looked down she knew she shouldn't have said anything, how could she be so stupid? The black-haired lady halted, hands gripping the edge of the table "Speak, what did you say" Gulping down her bile Matilda spoke "I said nothing ma'am" Agatha scowled.
