It was raining heavily outside. It had been raining all day, with no breaks. The gang had been chilling in the mind palace all day, looking for things to pass the time in an attempt to satiate their boredom. All day, it had been Roman, Logan, Patton, Virgil, Janus and Remus. But now, Roman realised, they were down a side. However, It took his slow moving rainy day brain a little while to work out exactly who was missing. 'Let's see... Logan, Patton, Me, Janus, Remus... who's missi- VIRGIL!-' Roman thought to himself, as he completely zoned out from the riveting game of uno the 5 of them were playing. Remus was screaming in an attempt to get Roman to finally fucking take his turn, Patton was making an effort to KINDLY and CALMLY get Roman's attention. Logan and Janus sat unfazed, both separately trying to come up with the best strategies to win at uno (admittedly, Janus's plan involved a lot more false reactions and deception, while Logan's involved more actually strategic thinking). "Um... I have to go... I'll be back soon." Roman said, standing up and placing his cards on the table. Remus continued screaming at Roman as he walked away, Patton cheerfully said, "Alright, see you soon!", Janus took the first opportunity he got to look at Roman's cards, and Logan just watched Roman walk away, his expression unreadable and seemingly emotionless. Roman walked down the hallway, only now realising just how drowsy rainy days made him feel. He reached Virgil's room, and knocked on the door. Nothing. "Virgil...?" No response. Roman carefully and cautiously creaked open the door slightly, only to find no one inside Virgil's room. He stood there, puzzled for a little while, before taking what was intended to be a quick and absentminded glance out a window to help him think. There! Virgil was outside, standing in the rain. He seemed happy... calm, serene... basically the opposite of anxiety. Roman smiled warmly, peacefully, and some might even say lovingly at the image of Virgil standing in the rain, before grabbing an umbrella and heading out himself. The second Roman opened the door to enter the drenched outside world, Virgil whipped around, looking at the door, and the Roman that had just come out of it, like a deer in headlights. "Uh... hey Virge!-" Roman said, waving and smiling awkwardly at him. "...hi." Virgil replied, clearly having been quite a bit shaken up by Roman's sudden appearance. "If you don't mind me asking, why'd you come out here?" Roman questioned, raising one eyebrow, and quickly glancing up at the sky from which the rain was falling from, before looking back at Virgil. "I just... like the rain. And before you asked, I didn't tell you guys because I wanted it to be more peaceful, and also didn't to explain myself at the time -" Virgil says, going on a very mini tangent at the end there. Roman smiles at him, and walks over to where he's standing. Roman gets close enough to Virgil that the two boys were now sharing the umbrella. "Fair enough..." Roman said, completely understanding where Virgil was coming from. Virgil blushed slightly. He was starting to consider it... Virgil deciddd that if he was going to do something, he would need to make up his mind with barely a second thought so that he couldn't doubt himself. So, he made the reckless and risky decision. "Um... I was actually getting a bit bored of standing in the rain... do you wanna... go to one of our rooms? We could watch a movie or something..." Virgil suggested, blushing, and trying his best to avoid direct eye contact with Roman. It took Roman's brain a second to process what was just said to him, but once it had fully registered in his groggy rainy day brain, he smiled warmly. "Sure! Let's go to my room, I have more blankets after all." He said half jokingly, half seriously. He was serious about them going to his room because he has more blankets, but he said it in a joking and teasing tone. So, the two boys enter the mind palace once more. Virgil quickly fetched a significantly drier hoodie from his room to get changed into, and headed to Roman's room. They ended up picking Encanto to watch (Headcannon: Camilo is both of their favourite character), and after a solid chuck of time singing along to songs and discussing fan theories surrounding the movie, the pair fell asleep in each others arms. They were completely and utterly adorable. Sure, when they woke up, they'd have to deal with the consequences of not telling the others what was happening, but that wasn't present Roman and Virgil's problem. Right now, all that mattered to the two of them was cuddling with eachother.
