wherein. . . the city of tokyo, megumi finds herself trapped in the shadow of her parents' expectations. with both parents esteemed surgeons, they have high hopes for megumi to follow in their medical footsteps. however, despite excelling in her studies, megumi's heart lies in the arts, a passion she has harbored since childhood. as she steer the pressures of conforming to her parents' wishes while yearning to pursue her own dreams, an unexpected encounter with shohei, a baseball-loving classmate in middle high school, sets the stage for a journey of self-discovery.
as megumi and shohei progress through junior and high school, their friendship deepens, fueled by shared jokes and close calls with baseballs. yet, as megumi's feelings for shohei begin to blossom, she struggles with the fear of jeopardizing their friendship and disappointing her parents. throughout their years together, megumi and shohei support each other through thick and thin, with megumi silently kept her unspoken affection for shohei. flashforward as she approach the end of her college years, megumi faces the daunting prospect of leaving japan to pursue her master's degree in fashion design in new york and she talks about it with shohei, while shohei also told megumi that he prepares to start on a professional baseball career in california.
