Max and Avery are in the arcade playing skeeball.

"That was great." Avery says, seeing how high Max's score is.

"I need to do better." Max says, pressing the start button again. "I'm trying to beat Xanders high score." She rolls another ball, landing in the 500.

"What's up between you and Xander?"

"I don't even know at this point."

"What do you want it to be?"

"Have you seen how faxing hot the Hawthorns are?" Avery blushes at this."You have." Max concludes.

"Tell me about Grayson." Avery says, directing the conversation away from that direction. Max pauses her game.

"Second oldest, manages Hawthorne Foundation, was heir apparent till will was read..."

"So he hates me because he thinks I stole the Inheritance?"

"Even if you think you played the old man into giving you everything, I guarantee he was the one playing you."

"Xander told me that."

"Exactly, none of them believe you stole the will. Want me to finish with Grayson?" Avery nods herbhead. "Protective, caring, smart, determined." Max finished.

"And Jameson?"

"Third brother, still in school, Riddles upon riddles, plays to win, reckless, determined, adventurous, has skipped school for two weeks straight."

"They are the complete opposite in some cases."

"And they both are in love with you."

"There's no...."

"Did you see them glaring at each other?"

"Yes?"

"Brothers don't fight like that for no reason. Grayson was there when the bomb went off, and Jameson blames him for you getting hurt. And now that Grayson knows Jameson was on the beach that night, Grayson is taking the opportunity to blame Jameson for Emily dying." Emily had a heart condition and was dating Jameson and Grayson at the same time, without either of them knowing. She had wanted to go cliff diving, and asked Jameson to take her, but he said it was too dangerous. She asked Grayson, and she gladly took her. Her heart gave put during the drop, Jameson was watching through trees. They both blamed themselves for her death for years, and she created a rift between them.

Avery and Jameson are in her bedroom, and he's shirtless. She asks about the scar on his chest, lightly tracing it. She's asked about it before, but he always directed the conversation away, never answering. He looks away from her.

"After her death..." he starts. She knows he's talking about Emily. "I climbed up to the highest cliff... I did it again and again. Then I must have landed wrong or something, and cut myself on a rock. When I got out of the water, the old man was standing on the beach. "Get that out of your system?" he asked me. Somehow he knew what had been going on between Emily, Grayson and I." Jameson says, slightly smiling remembering his grandfather. "There's nothing he didn't know." She lightly gives him a kiss.

"Aves?" Max asks, bringing her back to reality. "You remembered something."

"About Jameson." Avery answers. "He got the scar on his chest after Emily."

"There was more to that memory than that. I can see it on your face."

"We may have kissed."

"I knew kissing was involved."

"Hush." Avery says, not wanting everyone to hear.

"What? It's a huge mansion and no one is in here?" Max says, just as Xander walks in.

"No one in here?" Avery asks, raising an eyebrow.

"What are you two up to?" Xander asks.

"She's trying to beat your high score." Avery says, pointing at Max, who lightly shoves her.

"Not possible." Xander comments.

"O really?" Max asks, ready to accept the challenge. Avery actually looks at the points for each hole, and the high score.

"He's right." Avery concludes.

"Huh?" Max asks, looking between the two.

"With the number of balls, if you get all the balls where they will get the highest number of points, that equals Xanders high score." Avery explains.

¨Ea unus ex nobis.¨ Xander says amused

Avery, Jameson and Xander are in Graysons office. The three of them had come to Grayson for help solving their current riddle.

¨Ea unus ex nobis. Nos dedendat eius.¨ Grayson says to Jameson.

¨Scio.¨ Jamesons responds. In te car ride home, the three of them are all in the back seat on their phones. She translates what Grayson told Jameson.

¨She's one of us. We protect her.¨

¨I know.¨

¨Grayson told me that.¨ Avery says after a moment.

¨What?¨ Max askes confused, not understanding Latin.

¨She's one of us.¨ Xander translates. ¨Any Hawthorne knows its impossible to beat that score... unless you manage to rig the machine.¨
