We race to school, still damp and Will still shirtless. My legs were getting sore from all the pushing off. When we got to school Will almost slammed into the door, he was going so fast.
He yanked the handles and walked in while pulling his shirt on over his head. We sprinted through the halls with me leading the way since Will still doesn't know where everything is.
I lead him down a sloped hallway to the backstage and push him through the door.
We got there right as the principle was introducing him.
"Look at me," I say.
I started fixing his hair so it wasn't in his eyes and stuffed some under his snapback. I looked him up and down, he had a damp patch on his shirt and his left shoe was untied, he looked disheveled and messy but great to me. I remember the last time I saw someone like this it was when Mitch and I were together. We were eating ice cream in his bed and he spilled it all over me. So naturally I dumped my bowl of ice cream on his head. He looked adorable with chocolate syrup on his shirt and sprinkles in his hair.
"Molly?"
I shake my head and look up at a nervous Will.
"Hmm?"
"How do I look?" He asked.
"Good." I reply.
He smiled at me and walked out onstage when the principle called him.
"Uh hi," I hear Will say through the speakers, "I'm Will and I'm from England. And uh that's about it. I'm not gonna give a bunch of strangers my life story." He shrugged.
A few people chuckled but most people just stayed silent and bored.
The principle came back on stage and took the mic from Will and he walked back offstage.
"How did I do?" Will asked.
I shake my head, "Very something."
We laughed and started to walk back into the hallways.
"So do you wanna go back to the lake?" He asked as the bell rang, signaling school was over.
"Uh actually, Mitch and Brayden have a volleyball game tonight. I'll call you though and tell you the details if you want."
He smiled, "Ya I'd like that."
I smiled. We exchanged goodbyes and gave each other a hug.
I started pushing through the sea of hormonal teenagers towards Mitch's locker which was conveniently next to Brayden's.
"Mitch!" I shout over the noise of kids.
He turned around from his locker with a confused face and smiled when he saw me.
"Hey dork." He joked while he pulled me into a hug.
I buried my head into his Penn high hoodie and inhaled his sweet cologne.
"How are you feeling?"
"A lot better now," I mumble into his shoulder.
"Hey do I not get a hug?" I hear a voice say.
I look over Mitch's shoulder and see Brayden standing there with his arms open.
I start to pull away but Mitch pulled me back into his arms.
"She's mine," He mumbled, "Go hug Ryan."
I laughed and escaped Mitch's arms and made my way to Brayden's.
"I'm not anyone's," I say after Brayden released me.
Mitch slung an arm around my shoulders.
"You may not be mine but I'm yours," He said while pulling me through the hallway.
I heard Brayden fake gag and laughed.
I wrapped an arm around Mitch's and Brayden's waists and Brayden wrapped one around my shoulders along with Mitch's arm. "So what are we gonna do today?" I asked.
"Well we have a volleyball game tonight at 7 remember," Brayden said.
"Oh well Ryan, Will and I will be in the stands cheering you on." I say smiling.
"Wait Will?" Mitch asked while raising an eyebrow, "Why would he be there?"
"He's my friend. Is he not allowed to come?" I ask.
I should bring up the Cube thing. Why wouldn't Mitch tell me? I'll bring it up later when we aren't at school.
"No he can come it's just uh-"
"Just what?" I ask.
"I'll tell you later," He said.
I nod and keep walking.
Oh well I'll get it out of him eventually.
