Chapter 4 - Blip

The Omatikayan clan gathered round Toruk Makto as a new leader was born. Wails of anguish and disappointment echoed through the wispy branches of the Tree of Souls, creating a deeper sense of hopelessness as the magnitude of the situation sunk in.

'This is like stones in my heart. Tarsem is wise for his years. He will be a strong Olo'eyktan.'

Kamea looked on with despair as Tarsem raised a knife, ready to slash at her father's skin and become the new leader of their clan.

'The leader must die.'

Tarsem yells as he beats his fist into Jake's chest. The knife slices against Jake's skin, making a sliver of crimson blood drip down his chest.

'So the leader can be born.'

Kamea gasps as her father officially passes over leadership to Tarsem. Tears gather in her eyes watching her entire life disappear before her eyes. Everything she's ever known, gone, within moments.

'Toruk Makto will disappear. The people will be safe.'

The Sully family follow behind Jake as they make their exit from the Tree of Souls. Neytiri, known for her strength as a clan member and as a mother, drops her facade and cries before her people.

Kamea follows her silently, as if processing every little detail about their home before they leave it all behind. She pulls her hair from behind her ears, effectively shielding her bloodshot eyes from onlookers.

Kamea trails behind Neteyam as they fly away from the forest. She shares a look with him, telling him everything he needed to know. His twin sister, how ever stoic her expression remained, was struggling just as much as he was at the idea of leaving their home. A single tear slides down her face, glistening in the fading sunlight preparing for the eclipse. 

To avoid having a meltdown while flying her Ikran, she turns to face the forest as it slowly fades into the distance. Neytiri turns her head too, followed by the rest of the family members. Their yellow eyes gleam, filling with acceptance that they were leaving. For good.

'A father protects.'

Kamea turns away, officially leaving her entire world behind.

'It's what gives him meaning.'

Kiri turns too, coming to a realisation that she may never see the forest again.

'One life ends. Another, begins.'

The forest was long gone. A stretch of endless darkness filled Kamea's eyes. Strong gusts of wind rocked Paskalin side to side, and heavy rain coated him with a slippery layer of water droplets, as if begging her to slide off and fall into the endless abyss bellow. 

The darkness dissipates momentarily and a harsh, bright flash fills Kamea's vision. Slowly, the Sully family start to disintegrate into ash, gradually trickling away with the breeze. One by one, the family members disappear into nothingness. The Ikrans, following their example, screech loudly before they too disappear. 

It was as if they were never there at all.

Author's Note:

Hi everyone! As you may be aware, the first part of this story is set during the events of Endgame. Basically, they're blipping from a snap from Thanos somewhere. After I wrote this I realised that would technically be during the events of Infinity War, or in the early parts of Endgame which are set a few weeks after the battle on Wakanda and the other planet (I can't remember the name, and I'm too lazy to look it up). 

So yeah, let's just ignore that time mistake I made. They will appear after the five year time gap which occurs after Thanos' snap occurs. Around the same time Scott reappears from his time in the quantum realm. 

I also have no idea, absolutely NO idea, how to write dialogue for characters. I always want it to be as accurate as possible and for some characters, (mainly Steve and Jake) I'm finding it really difficult.

Anyway, I just wanted to clear that up incase anyone picked up on it. I was going to at as if Thanos just blipped for another planet five years later but I remembered he destroyed the stones, so it would be impossible.

I've been working on one chapter for a couple of weeks and it was boring me soo much since it was a bit of an unnecessary filler chapter.
