I walked into the lunchroom and instantly looked for where Louis and Sierra could be seated. I'm about to turn around and just head towards the lunch line, but catch a glimpse of Stan, who I'm not totally acquaintances with but have spoken a couple of words to and from with him.

He's talking to someone, and I see that he's trying to shove someone over to do something. When I see that it's Zayn, though, I bite my lip, and start to walk away from where the two are.

"Wait!"

Shit.

I sighed, hesitating on whether or not I want to turn back around and face him. I still wasn't happy with him. It had already been a bit over a week since he told me that he was really the one who had been texting me, and I was still a bit confused on it all. Not that I was confused about the situation, because I knew exactly what happened and how. I was just confused on how I felt about it, because for some reason I wasn't thrilled with it, but as the days went by I started to feel as if it wasn't as big of a deal as I made it out to be. Zayn had told me that he liked me, and I practically told him I felt the same. He did apologize, and seemed to take both Louis and Jamie's small beatings about it. I just felt as if I needed to forgive him or something along the lines of that already. But on the other hand with that added to the amount of times he's said things to me that were uncalled for or hurtful, I figured he should have to try winning me back.

I turned slowly, raising my eyebrows in question. He had his hands clasped together, knuckles a bit whiter than normal due to most likely squeezing his hands together.

"Uhm, I wanted to say that I was sorry... you know, about the whole uh... texting thing," he told me, bringing a hand up to awkwardly scratch the back of his head.

I nodded, "I'm still angry with you," I said, crossing my arms.

Zayn bit his lip, "I know. I just.. uhm," he started, trying to figure out his words before he said them aloud. Though just as he did, Louis decided to finally join me, and threw his arm around my shoulder.

"Come on, Amber," he said, sending Zayn a look and sneering before walking forward and tugging me with him. Zayn was left standing alone.

I checked the time for the third time, tapping my foot with my arms crossed. School ended twenty minutes ago and I've been waiting outside for ten minutes already just waiting for my brother to pick me up since he's a senior and can park at school.

I heard some footsteps from afar, and then a click of what sounded like a camera going off. I turned around with furrowed eyebrows, and rolled my eyes when seeing Zayn smiling behind the camera on his phone. "What do you want, Zayn?" I asked.

He smiled, a smirk hidden on his lips, "What?" he chuckled, "oh, sorry, it's just that in my opinion girls as beautiful as you should be 'captured in the moment'," he told me. I instantly rolled my eyes at his corny comeback. He sighed with a slight laugh, "oh come on," he laughed, "I gave you a compliment, you should be thanking me and then giving me a kiss while you tell me I'm your savior!" he jokes, laughing as he walked towards me.

I smiled, but then pursed my lips to hide it, "Not funny, Zayn. You're not funny," I re-crossed my arms.

He sighed, "I'm trying to make conversation with you. I'm trying to make an effort to like, gain your forgiveness back or... yeah," he told me.

I sighed, running a hand through my hair. I tugged on the ends of my sleeves, cursing myself for not wearing a heavier jacket that morning. "I know," I shrugged, "I just... what you did was not cool. It was embarrassing and harsh, to me. I want to forgive you, but I just think that I need a bit of time and hopefully for you to prove that I should forgive you," I told him, raising my eyebrows.

"Why-"

"No, ju-"

I was cut off suddenly, due to Zayn stepping forward and pressing his lips to mine. His hands cupped my cheeks, and I was taken back by surprise.

I pressed my hands on his chest, and almost kissed back, but then I softly pulled away, shaking my head. "Zayn, please," I whispered, opening my eyes. I kept my gaze on his shirt, not looking up to meet his eyes. He took a step back, and looked away to the side.

"Right... sorry," he apologized. I nodded, and wanted to scream in relief when I saw my mums car pull up to the curb.

"Bye," I said quietly, not really waiting for his response before I picked up my bag from where I had set it down earlier and climbed in the passenger seat.

"Who's that, hun?" my mum asked, glancing back for a second as she drove away.

I shook my head, "No one. How come Jamie didn't get me?"

She sighed, giving a small shrug, "He told me he had something with school to stay after for," she said.

I stayed quiet for the rest of the drive home, for some reason ignoring Louis' texts and putting my phone on do not disturb. Dad was home when we walked through the door, but I just jogged right up to my room, sighing loudly and falling onto my bed, leaving my homework for later and falling asleep for a nap to the worries of what I was going to do about that damn kiss.
