On the far reaches of space, an on going battle was taking place before some planets. Red and green explosions were seen as the opponents were the Green and Red Lanterns. Both on the emotional spectrum, but on two different sides. Many of the lanterns on each side had fallen, but there were few that remained.
The leader of the Red Lanterns, Atrocious and the well known hero of the Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan, were firing their respective energy blast at each other.
Hal: Come big red, sooner or later, you and your goons are gonna lose!

Atrocious: Hahaha! Foolish lantern! We have yet to use our ultimate warrior!

Hal: Ultimate warrior? Let me guess, a hungry baby?
Hal conjures up four green missiles and launches them at Atrocious. As defense, Atrocious creates a red beast the consumes the missiles as they detonate and destroy it. As the explosion distracts Hal, Atrocious uses his power ring to create tendrils to resist him. As he struggles to break free, Atrocious hovers to him.
Atrocious: Your life is now nearing its end Hal Jordan.
Hal: Really? That sucks, I had so much planned.
Atrocious: You and the universe will know to power of the red light!
Hal: Yeah, but not today ugly.
Suddenly, Atrocious is blasted away from Hal by an energy blast. Kyle Rayner, another Green Lantern from earth came to assist Hal in his fight with Atrocious.
Hal: Kyle! Good to see ya kid!
Kyle: Heard there was trouble, should've known you had something to do with it.
