Mr. Harris smiled. "No problem, Tristyn. We were just getting started. Have a seat."

As Tristyn walked past him, Antonio couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. Tristyn glanced at him briefly before taking his seat. As the lesson progressed, Antonio found himself understanding the concepts well, and by the end of the lesson, he felt calm and relaxed.

He got up, and saw a group of boys and girls surrounding Tristyn, who was sitting on top the first desk, with a smug look on his face. He stared at Antonio, and Antonio immediately looked away and started to leave the classroom. Just as he was about to walk out of the classroom, he felt a sharp, almost painful grip on his shoulder. He turned around to see Tristyn staring at him, his face twisted into a cruel smile.

"Hey, new kid. I didn't catch your name earlier. What's your name again?" His words were laced with sarcasm, and Antonio felt a flush of embarrassment creep up his neck.
"A-Antonio," he stammered, looking down. Tristyn chuckled, his eyes narrowing. He then grabbed Antonio by the collar. "Look me in the eyes when I talk to you."

Antonio swallowed nervously and raised his gaze to meet Tristyn's. "It's Antonio," he said, quietly. Tristyn's group of friends started to laugh, and Tristyn raised his hand, indicating them to keep quiet. "What? Speak up. I can't hear you," Tristyn said with a smirk. Antonio cleared his throat. "It's Antonio," he said a bit louder, this time.

"Antonio...." Tristyn repeated his name slowly. "Nice to meet you, Antonio," he said, while looking deeply into Antonio's eyes. He then walked past Antonio, while jostling his shoulder. His group of friends also walked past him while whispering and laughing.
Antonio felt extremely uncomfortable and wished he could disappear. He hurried out of the classroom, hoping to never see any of them again.

Soon, it was time for his chemistry class, which, unfortunately he shared with
Tristyn and his friends. As he walked into the classroom, he couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. Tristyn was already sitting at a table in the back, surrounded by his entourage of admirers. Antonio took a deep breath and tried to find an empty seat, but the classroom was already full. He finally settled for sitting at a desk by the window, hoping to remain as unobtrusive as possible.

The teacher, Mr. Mason, was an older man with graying hair and a warm smile. He
welcomed the students and began the lesson. Antonio found himself engrossed in
the lecture, his attention completely focused on the subject. As the class progressed, he couldn't help but notice that Tristyn and his friends were constantly whispering and giggling amongst themselves, making snide comments.

Antonio turned around to see Tristyn and his friends staring and pointing at him. He felt a knot forming in his stomach. Tristyn smirked at him, gave him the middle finger and then turned back around, acting like he was paying attention to the lesson. Antonio quickly turned around and tried to focus on the teacher as well, but he couldn't help but feel the weight of their gaze on his back.

As the class continued, Antonio began to feel more at ease. He found himself enjoying the lesson, and even managed to raise his hand to ask a question. To his surprise, Mr. Mason praised him for his insight and encouraged him to keep participating. It was a small moment of validation in an otherwise overwhelming situation.

At the end of class, Antonio gathered his things and quickly made his way out of
the room. He didn't want to give Tristyn and his friends another opportunity to harass him. As he walked down the hall, he felt a sense of relief wash over him. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.

Soon, it was time for lunch and Antonio sat all alone in a corner of the dining hall. Tristyn and his friends sat down at a table at the centre. Soon, a very pretty girl entered the dining hall. She had blonde hair and blue eyes and had beautiful features. She seemed to be very shy. She noticed that the only empty table that was left was the one at which Antonio was sitting.

She approached Antonio and nervously stammered. "U-um it it okay for me to- I
mean, can I sit here?" Antonio looked up, surprised by her timidity. He smiled warmly. "Of course, you can sit here. My name's Antonio, by the way." The girl blushed and took a seat across from him. "I'm Victoria, but you can call me Viki," she said softly.

She looked around nervously at Tristyn and his friends, who were still watching them from their table. "Don't mind them, they're a bunch of spoilt brats." Antonio smiled reassuringly. "It's okay." Viki visibly relaxed at his words. "So, are you new here?' she asked, making conversation. Antonio nodded. "Yeah, I am. It's my first day." Viki smiled. "Cool, I joined last year." Antonio asked, "So, how's your experience been?" Viki sighed, "Want me to be honest with you?" Antonio nodded, "Yes, please."

"It's not been easy," she began. She pointed towards Tristyn and his group of friends. "The girls in that group have made my life a living hell. It doesn't help when Desmond keeps flirting and making inappropriate remarks about me." Antonio frowned. "Who's Desmond?"

"Oh, you haven't seen him yet?" Viki said with a small laugh. "He's the guy with the brown hair sitting next to Tristyn. He's Tristyn's right-hand man. They're inseparable. Anyway, Desmond is arrogant, conceited, and thinks he's God's gift to women." Antonio didn't know what to say, so he just nodded and took a bite of his sandwich.

"I'm sorry to hear that," he said between bites. "I hope things get better for you." Viki sighed. "It's okay, not your fault. At least ou're not spoiled and arrogant like them, right?"
Antonio smiled. "No, absolutely not."
Viki extended her hand. "Then we can be friends. I could really use one around here."

Antonio smiled warmly and shook her hand. "I'd like that. A lot." They continued to talk and eat lunch, finding common ground in their shared interests. As the hours passed, Antonio felt a sense of comfort and belonging that he hadn't experienced in months. They noted down each other's phone numbers.

At the end of the school say, Antonio approached his mom's car, feeling more
hopeful about the day. He had made a friend and managed to survive most of the
day without any major incidents. His mom smiled when she saw him and asked how
his first day had gone. He told her about Victoria and how they had become friends, leaving out the part about Tristyn and his friends. His mom was glad to hear that he had made a friend.

Antonio went home and went to his room. He finished his homework, and came out of his room to see his mom in the kitchen.
"Hi mommy bear! Need any help?" he asked, cheerfully. His mom smiled at him and said, "No, dear. I've got it under control." Antonio hugged his mom from behind and kissed her on the cheek. "You're the best mom ever. I insist, let me help you."

His mom relented and gave him a bowl to wash. As they worked side by side in the
kitchen, Antonio couldn't help but feel grateful for her presence. She was his
rock, his support system, and he knew that he could always count on her. They chatted about their day, with Antonio telling her all about Victoria and their new friendship. His mom listened intently, her eyes shining with pride.

"It's wonderful that you've made a friend, honey," she said, rinsing the dishes. "It's important to have someone who understands you and accepts you for who you are." Then his mom finished dinner and they watched a show together. After dinner, Antonio went to his room.

He checked his phone to see that he got a text from an unknown number.
