September 2, 1945
Dear Diary,
The war finally ended but... I'm the only one left of my family.. I'm being sent to live with a man named Ludwig. I don't know how long I will be staying with him. Everyone in my family are gone, so I suppose he will probably be a good parent. I met him the day before the war happened. He was a tall German with ice blue eyes and blonde, slicked back hair.
He doesn't smile but sometimes I think it's a thing he does to look professional. Mutter says if anything happens and no one is still around to take care of me to stay with Ludwig. Everyone was so sure of him, I assume it was a good idea. He acts like a Vater to me since I have no Vater no more. He even called me Moonlight before. I think I like being around Mr. Ludwig.
