The days passed slowly for Arjun as he grappled with the weight of his decision. Each moment without Sia felt like an eternity, his heart heavy with regret and longing. He wanted nothing more than to hold her in his arms and make things right, but the fear of causing her further pain held him back.

As he boarded the plane for his month-long business trip, Arjun couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that gnawed at his insides. He buried himself in work, hoping that the distraction would dull the ache in his heart, but no matter how hard he tried, thoughts of Sia consumed his every waking moment.

In the quiet moments between meetings and conferences, Arjun found himself reaching for his phone, his fingers hovering over the screen as he fought the urge to call her. But each time, he forced himself to stop, knowing that his presence in her life would only bring more confusion and heartache.

Instead, he settled for a simple text message, a feeble attempt to convey the depth of his remorse without revealing the true reason behind his sudden disappearance. "I'm sorry for what happened that night," he typed, his words feeling hollow and inadequate. "I hope you can forgive me."

As the days turned into weeks, Arjun found himself consumed by guilt and uncertainty. He wondered if he had made the right choice in pushing Sia away, if he had only succeeded in hurting her more by his silence. But deep down, he knew that he couldn't bear the thought of dragging her into his inner turmoil, of burdening her with his own insecurities and fears.

And so, he continued to distance himself from her, each passing day weighing heavier on his conscience. But despite his best efforts to bury his feelings, he couldn't escape the truth-he loved her with every fiber of his being, and it tore him apart to stay away.

As the plane touched down on his return journey home, Arjun's heart raced with anticipation and dread. He knew that he would have to face Sia eventually, to confront the consequences of his actions and the truth that lay between them. But for now, he allowed himself a moment of respite, a fleeting reprieve from the storm that raged within him.

And as he stepped off the plane and into the unknown, he silently prayed for the strength to face whatever lay ahead, knowing that the path to redemption would be long and arduous, but believing with all his heart that it would be worth it in the end.
