Micah.
After I climbed out of the shower, I pulled on a pair of worn jeans and threw on an old t-shirt. I wasn't one to 'dress to impress', unlike my perfect sister.Sometimes, I thought I was too hard on her and that maybe, just maybe, I should be nicer, but I couldn't. My parents lost that privilege when they had her. They were ordered by the the King and Queen to have another child, because the odds of their useless son turning out to be as good as his parents, seemed quite unlikely. That's what infuriated me. I wanted so much to prove them wrong, but I never could. Cassandra was always there to prove the Royals right.
Maybe she was the glory child. Mother and Father seemed very impressed and even after I complained time, after time about her screwing up my missions, they were only proud. I didn't understand it. I didn't feel appreciated and I certainly didn't get the reward that I deserved.
Just as I was about to lay down on my bed and take a long, awaited nap, my demanding parents called me downstairs. What the hell did they want?
"I'll be down in a minute!" I called.
"NOW!" My mother screamed, her voice serious and somewhat angered. Geesh, I'm coming, lady! She was so impatient, but I was still curious to as what she could want. She was a very serious woman and didn't like to fool around.
I finished combing my hair and pulled on a pair of socks and then ran down the stairs, skipping two at a time. Once I had reached the dining room where my parents and my sister sat, they looked infuriated.
"What took you so long?" My mother asked angrily.
"I came as soon as you called." I lied.
"Whatever," She said, rolling her eyes. "There was a Dragon spotted not far from here, about mile away, at the school. Get your weapons and get there as soon as possible."
"The School? They never come that close to contact with the mortals." I mumbled in disbelief. I couldn't understand this. This was a very uncommon situation, but was no different than dwarves on the subway, so I guess it was possible.
"I know. That's why you need to get there as soon as possible." My father told me.
I nodded and went for my boots and leather jacket. "Cassandra grab my weapons while I get more Xactris powder." I ordered. She quickly obeyed and went upstairs to my room.
I went to the kitchen and poured enough powder into my pouch and shoved it in the inside pocket of my favorite jacket. I had a feeling I was going to need it. Within seconds, Cassandra was downstairs with both of my daggers, my silver plated sword, and two guns. I was ready and prepared.
"Alright. I'll be back for dinner." I told them with a forced smile. Why was I nervous?
"If you get into trouble, call your sister." My father told me. I certainly wasn't going to do that. Maybe, by succeeding in this mission, they would believe that I was a promising slayer too. I could only hope. I discarded my thoughts and headed outside to my motorcycle and hopped on. Hey, I got to ride in style!
What bothered me this time, instead of saying 'see you soon' like usual, they looked scared, and unfortunately, I was too. Dragons despised mortals and tried to stay away from them. If one had the balls to go to a school, something was messed up. I guess I'll have to find out what the hell this beast is up to.
Reagan.
"What do you think would have happened if the two lovers hadn't have died?" The teacher, Mr. Craig asked the half of the class that weren't sleeping or daydreaming. In English Class, we were reading the tragedy of Rome and Juliet. Most of the class either didn't understand it or thought it was boring. I thought otherwise. This wasn't boring. Whether the lovers' passion was real or not, this was a real story that brought many emotions and frankly, I enjoyed reading it.
