The Beast

While we were sailing through the storm the ship slammed to a stop and we all lunged forwards as if we hit a reef. I could hear the ship's hull creaking as if something was squeezing the ship. The guns had been run out but the bottom deck cannons remained inside to keep water from spilling in. A massive tentacle shot out of the water and we all stood in shock as it was something else we thought was a fairytale. I yelled "KRAKEN!" and everyone rushed to the cannons as tentacles shot out of the water and slid up the sides of the hull. The fierce roar of the beast was terrifying, cannons blasted hitting tentacles as tentacles grabbed people off the ship. A tentacle wrapped around the foremast and snapped it in half as the rigging tugged and snapped as the mast fell into the water. We had no clue if we were winning or losing. One of the cannons completely served a tentacle. The tentacles reverted back into the water. We yelled and cheered as if we thought we had one off as well. Everyone cheered and yelled knowing we killed it or injured it enough to scare it off. We proceeded back to port with what was left of the ship getting repairs and telling the tale but of course no one believed it.
