Louis decided his first move was to share the discovery with Kyle. Their friendship had been built on countless adventures through the streets and hidden corners of Muntinlupa, but this felt different more serious, more dangerous.
He found Kyle at their usual hangout, a quaint café nestled between the old and new parts of the city. The café was a fusion of past and present, much like Muntinlupa itself, with its vintage décor set against modern splashes of art.
"Kyle, I need to show you something," Louis said, sliding into the booth opposite his friend. The urgency in his voice made Kyle sit up, his usual easygoing smile replaced with a look of concern.
"What's up? You look like you've seen a ghost," Kyle replied, his curiosity piqued.
"It's my dad's," Louis began, pulling out the journal. He opened it to a page filled with the strange symbols and handed it over to Kyle.
Kyle's eyes widened as he took in the contents. "This is... intense. What do you think it all means?"
"I don't know, but I found it hidden in the attic, along with this." Louis showed him the photograph. "See this house? I recognize it. It's here in Muntinlupa. I think it's a starting point to find out what happened to my dad."
Kyle handed back the journal, his expression now serious. "You know this could be dangerous, right? These symbols, this mystery... it feels like we're stepping into something big."
Louis nodded, the weight of the task ahead settling in. "I know, but I can't let it go. I have to know what happened to him. And I could really use your help, Kyle. You're the only one I trust with this."
Without hesitation, Kyle replied, "You've got it. We've been through thick and thin, Louis. I'm with you every step of the way. But let's not dive in headfirst without some backup."
"Backup?" Louis raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I know someone. His name is Tom. He's new in town but knows a lot about... well, unusual stuff. I met him at a lecture on local folklore and the supernatural. He might help us make sense of these symbols," Kyle explained.
Louis considered this for a moment. "Alright, let's meet with him. But we need to be careful. If what's in this journal is as dangerous as it seems, we're going to need all the help we can get."
The two friends spent the rest of the evening making plans, unaware of the eyes that watched them from the shadows. Their journey into the eldritch secrets of Muntinlupa had already begun to draw attention, and not all of it was friendly.
As they left the café, the air felt charged, the night alive with unseen forces. The path ahead was fraught with dangers and mysteries, but with Kyle by his side and the prospect of adding Tom to their ranks, Louis felt a flicker of hope. Together, they might just uncover the truth hidden in the depths of the Abyss.
