-twelve years later-
"You've got to be kidding me." Evelynn said, standing up, "The east side of bedwaria... near Winstia?"
"Uh huh, that's where you're going for your next mission."
"Can't you dispatch Caitlyn or something? You're her assistant, Umeko. Besides, it's boiling in Winstia right now." She groaned, looking at Umeko in an annoyed way.
"She's on a mission, and you're the only one skilled enough to take on this mission." He replied, "And you know that, Ev. You're an assassin, and you also happen to be one of the most dangerous. You won't die because of the heat."
Evelynn sighed, "Fine. But don't expect me to forgive you next time."
It was nearly the end of summer, and it's scorching hot, even in the northern side of Bedwaria, Crystalin. Evelynn hates going on missions to other parts of Bedwaria at this time of the year, especially the east side of the realm, Eterna. It usually ended up with her being drenched in sweat. As an assassin who works at night and lives up north, she dreads summertime.
Evelynn grabbed her weapon and headed out of the headquarters, maybe wearing her signature black uniform on a blazing hot summer day was not a very good idea.
She headed towards a small forest near the headquarters, she took a deep breath and teleported away.

She reappeared in a small, dark alleyway, probably somewhere in Winstia. She passed the suspicious vendors selling unidentified items and weapons as she silently made her way onto the main street.
Winstia was a bustling city filled with luxurious shops and malls that sold almost everything you could imagine, it was the most popular place for shopping in eastern Bedwaria. The streets were swept clean of leaves, the trees and bushes trimmed to perfection, even the residents seemed perfect, keeping their heads high as they walked down the road, carrying their fancy handbags and parasols.
Evelynn frowned, she hated crowds. She squeezed through the packed street and searched for the way to the centre of the city. Kids with dip-dyed hair and identical-looking makeup passed her, laughing hysterically. Newborns whined in their strollers while their mothers tried to calm them down. Barbie-doll lookalikes were making a beeline in front of a newly opened luxury designer store. She brushed the loose hair from her ponytail away from her face as she took off her jacket. It wasn't hot, it was boiling. Slipping through the swarms of people, she finally stopped in front of a tall office building.
"Let's just get this over with."
The elevator dinged open, and she walked in. The buttons were newly polished and the entire elevator smelled like someone's overpowering floral perfume. Evelynn pushed the button to the twenty seventh floor and waited, staring at the tiny screen displaying the floors. Finally, the elevator door opened again and she stepped out. Her footsteps echoed through the hallway as she headed towards a door embroidered with gold paint and patterns. She opened the protective case of the keypad and pressed down her earpiece.
"Requirement: Code." She whispered, taking out her dagger, ready to break in.
  "Location?" Replied a monotone voice.
  "Winstia. Scarlet 3 speaking."
  "48394."
Entering the password, the door slid open soundlessly. Immediately, guards lunged towards her, attempting to pin her down. With a simple slash, the men flopped lifelessly onto the perfectly-vacuumed carpet. She sighed, muttering "inexperienced idiots" under her breath as she made her way towards the desk, where her target was sitting, his gaze glued to the computer screen, completely unaware of the situation.
Evelynn rolled her eyes. This mission was way too easy for a scarlet diamond, she silently crept up behind the man, dagger in hand, about to slice his throat.
Suddenly, more men barged into the room, cornering Evelynn beside a tall bookshelf as the others escorted her target out of the room. Guns were loaded with a click, the men slowly pointed the guns towards the assassin. She quickly climbed onto the bookshelf, using it as a support as she lingered mid-air, throwing one of the daggers at one of the guards, blood was spewed out as he coughed furiously, trying to catch his breath. The blood slowly floated into the air and formed into an orb. It was her chance. She closed her eyes as she connected with the spirit orb and teleported behind the security, slicing at them with her other dagger, making some of them fall onto the ground. She quickly picked up a gun dropped onto the floor, and started running towards the target, shooting at whoever she could see. The guards caught her by the arm, but it was too late, the man they have been protecting has been shot and killed, a giant hole bleeding furiously in his back proved it. she let out a small grunt and watched spirit orbs form around them, taking the chance to teleport away, escaping the firm grasp of the bodyguards. She is known to have the highest kill count in Bedwaria, and she was there to prove it. Grabbing two guns, bullets were shot all across the room, blood splattered everywhere. And all of a sudden, the room became quiet, only the sound of the assassin sighing echoed through the building. The clean-up crew should come any time now, all she had to do now is to wait. She looked around the room, the bookshelf has toppled over and the blood was everywhere. She could barely make out the luxurious look of the original room before the fight.
In some way, the room looked almost... familiar. Has she seen the floral-patterned wallpaper somewhere else? Why did the desk in the centre of the room look like something she had owned years ago? Her vision blurred, she leaned against the blood soaked wall as she struggled to stand. Her past flooding into her brain like a tsunami. She closed her eyes, bracing for the worst.
