The Sun shone brightly through the panoramic double-glazed windows incorporated with silken drapes in the royal sleeping quarters of the future Queen of South Ireland - Nymeria Portia Selkath Balthasar. The room in itself could fit an entire apartment.
The walls of the room were adorned with intricate tapestries and pieces of modern art. The bed was a large one with a four-poster frame with plush and luxurious bedding. The room gave off a cold vibration, it had been painted with a colour palette of white, blue, and grey. The room was characterized by grandiose features like a high ceiling with ornate details. The room had been decorated with extravagant furnishings like a plush armchair, vanity tables, and dressers. The room also had an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet, that held the princess's personally designed assortment of robes.
The princess herself lay on her bed, her porcelain-coloured skin glistening under the luscious and dazzling sunlight.
She had never been restricted when it came to clothes, she was beloved to her father. She slept in the pyjamas her father got her for Christmas every year. Being the eldest of all the children she had been destined to sit on the throne of South Ireland since the day she was born. Everybody in her family adored Nymeria, she was called Peach by her father due to the princess's exceptional liking towards that specific fruit. The only royal family member who despised Nymeria was Queen Gloria - Her stepmother.
Nevertheless, Nymeria always respected all the members of the royal family, especially the King and the Queen. Nymeria was devoted to her father more than anybody else.
She had adored her dear mother more than anybody else in the entire castle, Alexandra Quinn. Alexandra or Alex as everybody used to call her had been the Palace Superintendent.
Nymeria wasn't intended to become the Queen of South Ireland as she was not the daughter of Queen Gloria but being the first-born, she was bound to her service as the next Queen. The latter caused the Queen to utterly despise Nymeria and her mother-Alexandra.
Nymeria stirred in her bed as her alarm went off, she turned off the alarm getting straight up tight, and sat on the bed with her feet dangling off. She straight headed off to the bathroom to get herself ready for breakfast.
From her closet, she chose a white shirt tucking it in her blue denim pair of jeans along with a belt encrusted with 'YSL'. She then put on a beige overcoat making her look formal as well as casual at the same time. Admiring herself in the mirror with her dazzling blue eyes as she combed her brunette hair which reached her the level of her arm-pits putting on a gold bracelet which had been made a present to her by her father, the bracelet was in the shape of a peacock feather, she had been gifted the bracelet for her 18th birthday which had been not even a month ago. The bracelet had been an heirloom.
She then guided herself out of her sleeping quarters heading for the seomra m bia- dining hall at the northern end of the base of the castle.
Princess Nymeria had a liking for having a light breakfast, the royal cooks always strictly stuck to the menu decided for the princess, that day the breakfast consisted of her favourite Avocado Toast along with her special spot of earl grey tea. She usually sat with her step-brother during the breakfast. When she arrived at the hall, she was greeted by her butler- Sir William, who guided her to the chair where she usually sat.
Scanning the entire dining hall, she realized her brother was nowhere to be seen. She took a look at her wristwatch; she was neither late nor early. She then called for Sir William who stood at the far corner of the room, busy on his I-pad scheduling the princess's day, who at once marched to Nymeria's chair, slightly bowing. Nymeria then said in her lightly Irish-accented sweet voice, 'Sir William, what is the reason for the absence of Prince Cillian?', to this the butler in his voice sprinkled with heaviness and the sweet extensions on his vowels being Irish, said to, "Princess, Prince Cillian has his first Polo lesson today.".
