The sun and dipped low on the horizon, casting a warm glow over the Nunez household. Darwin and Y/N sat on the porch, watching as Jayden and Emiliana played in the yard, their laughter echoing through the air.
"It's hard to believe how far we've come," Y/N murmured, her gaze fixed on their children.
Darwin nodded, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Yeah, it feels like a lifetime ago since that day at Anfield."
Y/N reached out to take his hand, her touch gentle yet reassuring. "I never imagined we'd end up here, but I wouldn't change a thing."
As they sat there, lost in their thoughts, Jayden came running up to them, his face flushed with excitement. "Daddy, can we play football?" he asked, his eyes shining with anticipation.
Darwin's heart swelled with pride as he scooped Jayden up into his arms. "Of course, buddy. Let's go."
With Emiliana giggling in Y/N's arms, they made their way to the backyard, sound of their laughter mingling with the rustle of leaves and the gentle breeze.
As they kicked the ball around Darwin couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the moment - his family, whole and complete, surrounded by love and laughter.
Later that evening, as they gathered around the dinner table, Darwin looked around at his loved ones with a sense of gratitude and contentment.
"To family," he said, raising his glass in a toast. "To love, forgiveness, and second chances."
"To family," Y/N echoed, her eyes shining with unshed tears.
