episode one - the introduction to brynn routledge's life

BACKSTORY: You lived with your brother John b, and your best friend JJ Maybank. Your mother left when you were 2 years old, so you never really got to see her in your life. However, your father supposedly passed away just recently. It was a sudden death, although you didn't want to believe it. People said that your father, Big John Routledge, passed away at sea looking for a lost treasure. You never really wanted to believe it, because you had a great love for him. Over time, you got used to your life without parents, you sort of felt.. free.

You woke up in your bedroom, happy, and ready to start a new day in the Outer Banks. Today was Saturday, which meant boat day! Boat day was your favorite day ever since you were a little girl. Your dad used to take you on boat days until you were 12 years old. After that, you started going on boat days with your friends, the Pogues.

You walked to the bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth. After you did that, you walked over to the kitchen to see a blonde haired, shirtless JJ holding a plate with pancakes in them. "I made this for you" He said. You chucked and said, "Thanks J".

You and JJ always had a flirty relationship with each other, but never anything more than that. John B, however, didn't like the fact that you guys flirt often, which is why he always tries to prevent that.

You and JJ sat on the table facing opposite of each other. John b was grabbing the keys for the boat, so he wasn't with you guys. You didn't talk much but it wasn't awkward, you both just sat and ate your food. After a few minutes, both you and JJ put the plates in the sink, since you finished eating. "I'm gonna go get changed." You said with a smile. "Take your time, cupcake." JJ said. You let out a little chuckle.

As you walked into the Chateau's spare room, which was your room, you grabbed your revealing pink and orange bikini, blue jean shorts, and a light blue tank top. You went in the bathroom to get changed.

While you were changing, you heard a familiar voice yelling from outside. "JOHN B, BRYNN, WE'RE HEREE." Your friends Kiara and Pope arrived. You walked into the living room to greet them with a big hug. "I missed you so much." Kiara said. Kiara went on a family trip to Charleston for a week, which was why she couldn't see you for a while. "Where's John B?" Pope asked after breaking the hug with you. "I think he went to go set up the boat."

When Kiara and Pope walked out to go to John B, you grabbed a few beers to hand out to your friends. Just before you walked out, you heard someone say, "Hey! Wait for me!" JJ said as he ran out of his room. "Last to the boat is a rotten fish!" You said before you ran as fast as you could to the HMS Pogue.

You jumped on the boat and turned to look back at JJ who was running while breathing heavily. "Loser!" You said to JJ while giggling. "I went easy on you, princess" JJ said. "Yeah whatever, blondie" You said while rolling your eyes. "Will you both ever stop flirting?" John b said seriously. You and JJ slowly turned to face John B holding your laugh. "Shut up John B, Let's get this boat day started!" Kiara said shouting excitedly while taking off her shirt to reveal her bikini.

While drinking a beer on the speeding boat, you felt a pair of eyes on you, specifically on your abs, since you were wearing a bikini. You tried ignoring it at first, but with time, you've had enough. You looked over to see JJ looking at you while sipping on his beer. "You like what you see, Maybank?" You managed to let out. "Very much, princess." He said quietly with a smirk. Your cheeks turned red.

John B stopped at a place that you weren't quite familiar with. He said, "JJ and Mads wait here until we come back." "Where are you going?" you said confused. John b walked away ignoring your question. "Great, it's just me and you." You said referring to JJ. "That's not a bad thing, Routledge."

You and JJ talked about random things while waiting for JB and the others to come back. You felt like it was really hot and sunny in the place where you stopped at, almost making you feel lightheaded. "Wanna swim?" You asked JJ. "You already know my answer to that." You and JJ jumped in the refreshing water while holding hands.

While you were playing footsie with each other in the water, John B came walking back to the HMS holding a box of beer. "POGUE PARTY!" You looked at him in shock while laughing. You didn't expect this, however, you wanted to have some fun. You and JJ climbed back on the boat excited for the party.

JB drove back to the Chateau to get the party started. On the ride back home, you were sitting on the edge of the boat next to JJ with your feet in the water. Just before you arrived to the Chateau, your feet hit a metal chain really hard, which made you wince at the feeling. "What the fuck was that?" JJ said angrily.

Pope stood up on the edge of the boat to see what hit your leg, while JJ grabbed some ice from the beer box to put on your foot. "Is that.. a boat?" Pope said in confusion. "Oh my god." Kiara replied. They all jumped in the water including you to check out the sunken boat.

"Wait.. John B." You said in shock. "Is that.." Someone cut you off. "Dad's boat." John B said in shock.
