Srry this took so long

"Jake." I said weakly. My blood drained from my face. Hands shaking. Knees weak. "That's gage."
i see his jaw pulse and he starts to walk away quickly. I follow him but when he reaches his door he turns around and says "hide."
I shook my head and hid in his closet.
I hear a ruckus outside and then I hear the door open. I hear jakes dad's voice
"I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. That's all"
Then, Gage... "Yes, she suffers from many mental illnesses ever since her parents passed."
What the hell?? Mental illnesses?? Omg. He is trying to get me back!
"Dad no! I'm sure this man raped her!" Jake yelled
"Son, calm down. She suffered a trauma. She has many mental illnesses." his dad says sternly.
"No dad no."
I heard someone running up the stairs and I thought it was Gage, I started to cry and be scared until the door opened and jakes voice said "Ashly get the backpacks in the closet hurry!"
I did as I was told and get the backpacks.
"Get me some clothes, my water bottle, charger, the protein bars, and shoes. Then get what u think u will need." He frantically grabbed stuff and shove it into the bag.
"Jake? What's going on."
"No time to explain. I'll tell u when we escape."
Escape? Did jake just say escape? What the hell is going on? I got some stuff and put on some sweats and a hoodie. Got my stuff and said
"I'm ready" it's been a whole 5 minutes since he came up and now he opened his window.
"Let's go."
"Wait... I can't. It's too high."
"We have to! Come on Ashly we need to jump now!"
"Fine."
I jumped and landed okay. I was really scared though.
"Come on jake. Jump!"
Then he jumped and when he stood up he said "come on. we need To leave now."
I followed him to the woods.
We were about 3 miles deep into the woods and it was silent. I grabbed his arm to stop him and he looked at me.
"We need to go. Don't stop me."
He started to walk.
"JAKE! WHY ARE YOU HELPING ME?"
I yelled and started to cry a little.
He turned around and got close to my face. I looked in his eyes and he looked in mine. We were centimeters apart.
"Because I care about you. I believe you. Dammit Ashly, I'm in love with you. And I know it's only been a short time but I swear I do and I need to keep you safe. I don't think I could live with myself if I let anything happen to you."
I started to cry and hugged him really tightly.
"I just needed to know jake. I didn't know if you loved me. I love you. But I don't want to hurt you. I don't want you to hurt I don't want to pull you in my bullshit. I can't do that to someone I love."
"Your mine baby girl. Don't forget that. You always will be. I will protect you with my life. I swear."
I let go of him and said "we should get going!"
He didn't move an then he grabbed my arm. I turned around and he was looking at me in a look that said 'no don't go yet.' he pulled me in and yet again we were centimeters apart. He kissed me and I just felt like I wanted to die right there in his arms.
He stopped kissing me and said " now we can go"
Then We started to walk.
I asked him "where are we going?"
"Somewhere far and we can take shelter"
"I know a place I came across it when I was running through the woods."
"Is it far?"
"Yeah. It's an old house that is abandoned but the inside was really nice. I kept running cuz I thought hopefully I would die somehow. we can go there though."
"Okay. Let's go."
I led him about 2 miles northeast and we saw it.
"That's it" I commented
"It actually looks habitable. I thought it would be all shit."
"Nope."
I started to walk to it and he followed.
We went inside and it was somewhat clean but you could tell no one has lived in it for a whole. There was furniture in it so we kinda wondered what happened but we were wandering around the house looking around and we decided to sleep in the same bed. It was late and we decided to save the food for when we were really hungry. We went to sleep and covered up with the blankets that were there.
We fell asleep.
