The next morning, Sunday, Lexi was making plans to meet up with Darby when Dameon put a nix in them.
"Why can't I just take that stupid test later on?" Lexi asked again as she put her bowl of cereal in the sink. "It's not like I don't have all summer." She argued.
She was currently standing in the kitchen where Dameon was getting himself a cup of coffee. Where he had also just announced to her that she was going to be taking her assessment test this morning.
"Alexis, I am not arguing with you. You're doing the test...this morning. Be in my office at 10am." He stated firmly. "And put that bowl in the dishwasher." He ordered as he walked out of the kitchen, heading back towards his office.
"How about no." She muttered to herself, however she did put the bowl in dishwasher and then followed him to his office.
"But I already made plans this morning." She tried again to explain as she came out of the kitchen.
"Well, they'll have to wait till after you are finished." He replied unsympathetic as he kept on walking towards his office.
"Why can't I take the test later today? Why do I have to take it right now?" She pushed, though to him it sure sounded as if she was demanding he explain himself to her.
"Because I want to go ahead and get it out of the way." Dameon replied.
"This is so stupid. I don't understand why we can't do this another time. It's not like it really matters." She grumbled though more to herself as she was still trailing along behind him.
"Stupid or not," Dameon shot back over his shoulder, "I said you are taking it this morning and it does matter to me." Indicating to Lexi by his tone, that he had heard all he wanted to hear about this topic.
"But that's not..." But before she could even finish that sentence Dameon stopped at the office door way, turning to face her, cutting her off mid sentence.
"Alexis, you say one more word about this test. I'm going to pull you over my lap right now and give you something to complain about." He stated as he stood there staring down at her, daring her to say another word. She didn't.
When he finally released his gaze from her, he continued on into the office. He did hear her exasperated huff and her stomping her way back up the stairs. That, he noted, needs to stop too but he decided today to pick his battles. That one could wait, though as he listened to each loud stomp as she made her way up the stairs, he was wondering how long he was going to be able to wait to deal with that.
Lexi flopped back down on her bed and sent a text message to Darby about how she just had to take that stupid test, today. She added like ten eye roll emojis to the end of her text. Luckily Darby said no problem, and they decided to catch up when she was finished. So, Lexi hung out in her room till it was time to go "report to Dameon". Yeah, she should probably work on her attitude before she gets down there...some, at least. She wasn't really wanting to see if Dameon would go through with his earlier threat.
She actually had gotten caught up in a book she was reading and did lose track of time. She realized it about the time she heard Dameon bellowing her name from downstairs. Oh, crap!
"ALEXIS! NOW!"
Leaping from her bed she jerked open the door and flew into the hallway. She was immediately met with a dark stormy glare from Dameon who was standing at the foot of the stairs. She came to a sudden halt at the top of the stairs and began to slowly descend the steps, cautiously. She was trying to assess the situation before she got within arms reach of Dameon. Right now she was still able to make a run for back to her room, if needed.
