Ch. 1

On a rainy and glum day in a small town full to the brim with markets and overpriced housing, Ampelio, a boy raised into poverty who had learnt to steal portions of food for his family was snaking around between small and narrow back alleys smuggling food in his arms to bring back to his mother and father.
He reached his destination. A small area behind a few industrial dumpsters that would hide them away but unfortunately not from the elements of outside. The three in the family were cold and wet from the downpour and we're all huddled close up together eating the small portion of food Ampelio had stolen. They ate in silence until Ampelio spoke up. "How much longer do we have to hide here? Can't we ask for help. We're freezing and wet." he complained, though it was usual for him to do as he was well known to be over dramatic and act a bit over the top. His mother spoke in her usual soft and calm tone "Ampelio, we've told you this is the only place we can stay for now since we're hidden away from the police." Ampelio just grumbled in annoyance and his father sighed. They finished eating and saved a small portion for Ampelio to eat in the morning before he went out to get another smaller portion of food. They all huddled closer and fell asleep like that, the rain hitting their skin.

Ampelio, however, woke up in the middle of the night and decided to go out for a short walk. He fiddles with the rose in his hair holding his loosely shaped ponytail together. It had stopped raining and was fairly dry out. As Ampelio walked more he bumped into a man that had been running. He wore a deep blue vest overtop a crème white blouse with bell sleeves that tapered out more to the bottom. The man also wore finely tailored pants to himself that were a deep green. The man's features were not all that visible due to the darkness and the only light being the moon that gave a soft glow over everything. Ampelio looked up at the man and opened his mouth to speak only to be interrupted. "Im very sorry about that but uhm... just come with me..?" he spoke in a frightened manner and held out his hand for Ampelio to take...
