QIBLI'S POV

"Winter...?" The freckled sand dragon's face entirely lifted. What were the chances that your best friend who happened to be your crush appeared right at your cave the second you break up with the dragon who you thought you were deeply in love with? Qibli blinked multiple times, wondering if he was hallucinating. Nope, the sparkly Icewing remained where he was.

"Qibli...? Are you alright?" Winter asked, probably confused on why Qibli was standing there blinking multiple times while his jaw was closed to the floor than it was to his skull (which I now realize must had been quite disturbing.) He ran up to the larger dragon, bringing his wings around Winter in a hug. "I've missed you so much!" Qibli said, pulling back and looking into Winter's eyes. Those beautiful, shining eyes. He could look into them forever.

"Yeah, same." Winter smiled subtly, looking at Qibli. They both stared at each other for an awkwardly long time before they both looked away, blushing a bit. Qibli stepped back, allowing the former prince to settle down back at his old sleeping nook.

"So, what brings you back here?" The sandwing asked, helping Winter unpack some things.
Winter smiled a bit more. "Well, I've been working on that scavenger research thing and I've made a lot of discoveries." The Icewing had this cute nerdy grin on his face before he realized he was doing a nerdy grin and it disappeared abruptly. "So I wanted to bring some of the research here."

"Oh, that's cool." Qibli remarked. "Have you found a better pet than Bandit? Does it do front flips in the air and compliment you all day?" The sandwing teased, nudging Winter with a wing. Winter scowled and nudged him back. "Scavengers are too distinguished to be pets. They build their own little houses and everything!" The prince nearly began to rant before he heard Qibli's sad attempt at hiding giggles and stopped, sighing.

After they finished unpacking, Qibli guided Winter outside to Fatespeaker so she could update his schedule and get him back in the school's system. While Winter spoke to the nightwing, Qibli saw Moon talking with Kinkajou, and he watched for a moment, a clawing feeling in his stomach as if it were to rip the rest of his organs to shreds. Moon took a look at Qibli and so did Kinkajou, and they both gave him a somewhat disgusted look and looking away, laughing a bit. Now Qibli felt like absolute shit.

"You alright?" Winter nudged the sandwing, his voice flat but concerning. "Yeah, I'm fine." Qibli signed, turning his attention to Winter. The blue Icewing frowned and glanced at Moon, who was looking at the two.

Before Qibli could say anything more, he found himself dragged by the former prince to a place more behind the mountain where Moon couldn't see them.
"Qibli, your going to tell me what the hell is going on between you and Moon. And don't lie. I'm not stupid." Winter growled, spreading his wings slightly so the sandwing couldn't bolt.
"Well, something happened between the two of us.." Qibli said as strong as he could, his voice catching in his throat as he looked up at the icewing. If he was completely honest, Winter could sometimes be pretty intimidating, and right now it was one of those moments.
"Well, what happened?" The former prince demanded, towering over Qibli. There was a pause, the two looking into each other's eyes, before Qibli said something.

"I had to end things with her. It just.. wasn't working out." The freckled sand dragon finally mustered, his gaze faltering to the ground. Winters eyes scanned Qibli's face, as if looking for something, before snorting slightly. "So, your not dating her anymore?" He asked in a rather harsh way. Qibli looked up sharply and defensively. Though the Icewing had changed, sometimes Winter's reckless and self righteous side of his personality slipped out.
"Yeah, that's kind of obvious." Qibli retorted, nudging Winter. Though it didn't really push the Icewing at all, he came to a realization and immediately apologized. "Sorry, now I realized that sounded kinda rude." He ducked his head. Qibli chuckled, pushing him again, but playfully. "Wow, you actually admitted you were a jerk?" He gasped dramatically. "Who are you and what have you done with Winter?" The Icewing rolled his eyes and shoved Qibi.

The sandwing hoped Winter could stay a bit. He could get used to this for sure.
