"Poisonfang??" Silverstar's eyes lit up with surprise, Falconbreeze beside her.  A gasp rose in her throat.

"I-I" I stammered, I hate it when I do that.

"I need to set a search patrol immediately." Silverstar meowed, I could feel the anxiety vibrating off of her. The sunlit amber eyes of Poisonfang flashed in my mind. I felt my ears go timid with fear. Silverstar started again, "We need to bring our bravest cats." I felt determination ruffle through my pelt, But there's no way she would choose me, right? As a medicine apprentice, they were most suited for herbs and healing cats. I didn't even know how to hunt.

It was Falconbreeze who spoke, "I'll bring Hailsplash, Browntail, Lilywing, and Stormflight." He seemed completely content with his idea. I wish it was me who was going. I knew a lot about search patrols, but I wouldn't give up the ability to be able to heal cats for anything. I looked down at my white paws. I shuffled them in the soil nervously, still worrying about Poisonfang, could she be the one who defeats  us all? I'd always paid attention to Poisonfang's timeline. I needed to know everything about her to be able to know how to stop her. So far, I've heard that she used to be a small kit, as Sunkit. She was born to Pinestar and Sweetflower. She had one sibling, a tom named Flamekit. She grew up as an innocent apprentice, Sunpaw. But soon, an evil cat they would call Skywatcher, took over her soul to kill cats. He left her body but after going through what he'd done to her, she became obsessed with killing cats. Cutting off cat's lives just for the reek of blood. Whatever she'd done to Gingerblaze, couldn't be good.

"Whitepaw, we need to get back and sort the herbs." My mentor, Sunpelt, who had been beside me the whole time spoke, and then noticed my nervous expression, "What's wrong?" I didn't want to tell her what I was thinking, but what do you know? I did anyways.

"I— I don't want to lose everything." I felt my misty eyes, and let out a sniff.

Sunpelt put her head on mine and I nuzzled my face into her thick fur. I'm glad there are cats out there who care— unlike my parents, Skywatcher, Poisonfang, and Shadepaw. I don't know what Shadepaw picked on me for, but something was wrong with him. I let teardrops fall onto my face. Everything will be alright.

"I'm doing what now?"  My eyes widened in surprise, "But i'm a medicine cat!" I mewed in disbelief.

"Even medicine cats have to learn to fight, Whitepaw." Sunpelt reminded her, "now, let me show you a fighting move I want you to use." Sunpelt explained the 'Back leg kick' where you would kick an enemy behind you, to surprise them, I practiced a few times, and I thought I had it right. I saw a gray shape in the distance, next to Hailsplash. Instantly, I knew who it was. The tom gave a challenging gaze to me, This was going to be fun

"Today, you're going to use that move against Shadepaw." Sunpelt explained. I nodded, unsure about this. I liked to be in the medicine den. Alone. I was quite introverted, that didn't mean I didn't have friends, but I liked it when the only living things in the medicine den were me and the herbs. I braced myself, my muscles clenched.

Before I knew it, Hailsplash was yowling, "Start!" I pounced on him, outstretching my legs and paws, but he dodged my blow. Quickly I kicked from behind, but the tom grabbed my tail and pulled me off balance, plummeting me to the side. I bit back my yowl of pain as I checked my tail for wounds, searching through my thick fur.

      "Pfft, medicine apprentices." Shadepaw teased.

"Shadepaw!" Hailsplash yowled, "She's a medicine apprentice, let alone a new one, and you just threw her onto the ground. Did I not tell you to go easy on her?" I noticed the warrior's tail almost lashed, his pelt burning with frustration.
