chapter six

I decided to keep Renesmee as a kid because I need cute moments with her in this book. I know that doesn't exactly fit with the lore, but it's fine.

ALICE'S POV:

I sit on the couch, anxious. Renesmee's in Bella's lap, who's beside me.

"Auntie Alice, what's wrong?" Nessie asks, her brown eyes looking into mine with curiosity.

"Nothing, really. Just nervous." I say with a smile. She smiles back, holding my hand as comfort.

Carlisle finally sits down after having a one-on-one talk with Jasper.

"Alright. We need to talk about Maria. When can we tell her about.. the situation."

"I think it should be soon." I say, earning a look of shock from everyone.

"What? She needs to know before graduation."

"Alice has a point."

Everyone stares at Edward, except me, Bella, and Nessie, in disbelief.

"Bella took it quite well when I told her, so maybe Maria will too."

"Yeah, but she's not like me. She's.. innocent, it seems."

"So were you." Edward snorts, earning a glare from Bella.

"Just saying." Edward mumbles, earning a loud barking laugh from Emmett and glares from Bella.

Everyone's attention turns to Jasper. He hasn't said a word.

"I agree with Alice. I don't want to lose my mate."

I let out a sigh of relief, I was worried he wouldn't agree with me.

"Then, when can we tell her?" I ask, my anxiety heightening.

I feel a wave of calmness come over me.

Must be Jasper's doing.

"I think we should tell her in about three weeks. Sounds fair, right, guys?"

Everyone nods.

"Then it's settled. You two will tell her in a few weeks."

Carlisle finalizes the meeting, dismissing us.

As Jasper drives us to school, I bop my head to "Maneater" by Nelly Furtado, that's playing on the radio.

I can't wait to see Maria. These past couple weeks with her have been the second best of my life. The first ones being when I met Jasper and then the Cullens.

"Jasper?"

"Yes, my love?"

"Do you think Maria will accept us?"

"I'm sure she will, dear."

"I hope so."

"Likewise, love."

I let out a sigh before resting my head against the window before we pull into the school parking lot.

I hope Maria's doing okay..

As we pull into the parking lot, I get out of the car with Jasper, pulling out our umbrella since it's raining.

Jasper and I walk into the school, the stench of teenagers and blood filling the air. Me and Jasper walk to the lockers, seeing Maria looking down at her phone with an anxious face.

"Hey, you okay?" I ask, making her accidentally hit her head on her locker.

"Ow-!" She hisses before rubbing gently on her head and turning towards Jasper and I.
