Today is my engagement. When I told my friends that I have said yes to the marriage they all were shocked. I am still not ready for the marriage but I am left with no option. I still haven’t met the girl. Now I am driving to my engagement venue . On the entry I see a lot of media. I clearly told everyone that I don't want any media’s involvement.
I dialed my manager's number. “hello sir” I say “ Rohan I clearly told you that I don’t want any media here. clear them within 5 minutes” he speaks” sorry sir,but I have made sure of it. I think they are called raichand's, but don’t worry I will clear them sir”. these media attention people, I really hate them. I will make sure Mr raichand pays for his mistake.
I entered from the back door and everyone was already present there. By everyone I mean raichand’s and my family as it was decided by me that they can do all the gathering they want at the wedding and reception ceremony.
I have been waiting for almost 10 minutes but the girl with whom I have to get engaged have not arrived. They are wasting my time. I asked Mrs Raichand to call their daughter but by the look on her face I can sense something is wrong. as she was about to speak her daughter came with Mr Hassan , I know this guy he thinks he is my biggest rival but he just looks like a child to me.
The girl comes ahead and says” he is my boyfriend and I don’t want to marry you”
If I was alone here then I would have killed both of them brutally with my bare hands but the ladies of our house don't know about the Mafia thing so I should just keep quiet. I will definitely kill them after this drama .
Mrs Raichand says ”Kriti beta what are you saying stop this prank”
she says”mom this is not prank I really love him”
Now this is the end of my patience level.
I speak loudly” is this some kind of joke going on here?”
Mr raichand speak” this is just a mistake Mr malhotra I will clear it”
papa says” this is not a joke Mr Raichand , you should have told about it earlier, now the matter is about our respect as media is standing outside”
I really got angry realizing the presence of media I say “ if this is your some kind of publicity stunt , I will make sure you guys suffer “
Mrs raichand “ give us some time “ and she looked in the direction of the door.
she took Mr raichand aside and discussed something, they came back after sometime
Mrs Raichand says” I am really sorry for my daughter’s mistake but we will definitely amend our mistake so instead of Kriti , Iqra will get engaged with Avinash”
I was about to speak but I heard anklets sound and turned around and saw the cafe waitress. I know she is that waitress only, I clearly remember her eyes. I was right that day she is really an angel.
I came back to reality when I hear angel speaking” no I will not do this engagement “
so she is iqra , oh her name is beautiful. I am completely zoned out , my anger is completely gone seeing her face.
But when I saw that kriti’s face I came back to the actual situation , this is not some kind of joke going on that I will engage with anyone.
Suddenly, Mrs Raichand held iqra’s arm and took her into a room. After some time Mr Raichand came and apologized and requested papa to say yes for their useless request.
papa said nothing. Then , iqra came and said she is ready for this engagement. Why did she suddenly say yes??
Dadu asked me and iqra to come aside.
She was looking scared. dadu politely asks her “ beta did anyone force you to say yes”
she says” nhi ji, I have said yes with my full consent”
Then she goes to her family and dadu says “ beta just get engaged , we will discuss everything after it”. I just nodded. It is about our reputation and I can go to any extent for my family .

Now , we both are sitting together at a safe distance from each other. Mumma performed the rituals, filled her hair partition with red vermilion and covered her head with red dupatta.
After that rings were brought. I took the ring and Mrs Raichand placed her hand in my hand and she flinched but she quickly maintained herself. Why did she flinch? Did I make her that much uncomfortable? We exchanged our rings . After that mumma asked us to go to the dining table . Everyone settled on chairs , we were served a variety of dishes but didn’t even touch anything , all the time she was just looking down . Suddenly , my phone started ringing. I was about to go out to attend it , the main door of the house opened and the man walked in , to the dining table , and he was none other than sidharth kapoor. {I know him ,he and his brother are italian Mafia kings, he usually handles matters in india so he mostly is seen in india, I have seen him in many Mafia meetings. but why did he come here}
He comes ahead says “ iqra” . I turn towards her , she quickly stands up and runs towards him and hugs him tightly. what just happened , I know she is crying, I can hear her sobs. Sidharth covers her with his jacket. [leave her you fucker, she is my girl] I can’t say it aloud because I have no right, but I could feel a foreign pain in my heart.
Mrs Raichand calls iqra to come and sit with me but before she could even complete Sidharth speaks “ I dare you Mrs Raichand, if anyone even tried to come near her, that would be the death of them". I could see fear in Mrs Raichand's face but I was not scared of these empty threats. I was about to go to get my girl but mom held my wrist and made me sit.
He made her sit on the chair . I can see dried tears on her face. Nobody has said anything to her, if Mrs raichand has forced her , I will kill her the next moment ,I came to know the truth.
but why she is crying, if she don’t want me and this proposal , all she have to do is speak and I will break this fucking proposal.
Sidharth passed her water, and she calmed down after some time . Mom asked Iqra to come with her .Sidharth was about to say something but she held her hand and gestured to him ‘no’. she stood and walked behind mom. They came after 20 minutes, what they talked about so long. As mumma , I announced “ we should leave now” and moved out of the house. I could have left earlier also but I just wanted to see her face one last time before going.
