Damien remained by Marinette's side as she slept.

Once again, the manor was quiet as they waited for her to wake up.

By some miracle, she hadn't gotten frost bite but her body had gone into survival mode so all other functions had slowed down to keep her alive. Likely, the only reason she was still alive was her connection to her miraculous.

"I swear she's going to give me a heart attack at some point." Adrien huffed, leaning against Jon.

"How often does this happen?" Jon asked quietly, knowing Damien could likely hear them.

"Too much..." Was all Adrien responded with.

Jon kissed his forehead and gently rubbed this shoulder. "Do you know anything about them?"

"They're always different... Sometimes she'll be remembering an akuma... Or times in the street, sometimes she'll imagine someone has turned on her or suddenly hates her. One time um... She was so submurged in her nightmare after she woke up, she slashed my back with her claws because she thought I was akumatised into some kind of white cat... I don't resent her for it, she's been through more than most of us because it always had to be her alive in the end before she became a cat holder..." He explained, he never quite understood why she dreamed of that.

Jon blinked "what like... Chat Blanc?"

Adrien hummed, "I guess. Her worst dreams... They're always about water. One of her biggest fears is being submerged in water. I mean I suppose cats don't like water but still... She once was thrashing so much to get to the 'suface' she broke Viperion's nose. I think the only time she hasn't been absolutely terrified was with the water power up and even then she fought extra hard for the fight to be done quickly."

Damien frowned as he overheard their conversation, he wanted, more than anything, to shield her from any more pain.

..~~..

Selina and Bruce sat awkwardly in his office.

"Thank you for helping us find her." Bruce said politely.

"She's the daughter I never had. Of course I would. I did it for her not you."

Bruce held back a sigh. "I'm sorry..."

"Are you? We've been together for years yet you still won't even dein to call me your girlfriend." She hissed

..~~..

"They fighting again?" Tim yawned as he walked up to Dick.

"Yup... Same one as normal too."

Tim sighed. "30 bucks says that as soon as Martha yells at them they'll get their act together."

"It's Marinette. But that is totally an unfair bet. That's exactly what's gonna happen. But I bet that it happens less than a week from today." Dick crossed his arms.

"I'll take that. If I win you have to take over my sparring time with Mart- Marinette for a month." Tim smirked.

Dick grinned "Done. Same terms for you"

They shook hands.

"What are you two idiots doing?" Damien glared at them.

"Well we're -"

"Be useful and go and get more warm blankets." He demanded harshly and disappeared back into the direction of Marinette's room.
