Bury your troubles (and break their heart)

They are running out of time to stop him, Bryce, the asshole, was going to ruin everything because he wanted to be petty and 'better than everyone else'. What a joke. Someone like him would never achieve something like that.

Nico was almost thankful, keyword almost, that the dumbass had such a big ego that he just kept dragging it out uselessly just to brag and ironically, giving them more time to figure out how to stop him.

Of course, that was if they could find a way. And the other knew that, he knew that they had no way to stop him so he was taunting them, showing them he could take as much time as he pleased and he'd still get away with it. I mean, could you get any worse of a person?!

"Oh my gods! It- it's going to be so funny to watch you get executed, I hope they use the old method! I've never seen it before and I'm dying -ha ha get it- to see it!" And he just kept going on and on like- how much can a guy talk?!

As much as his voice was grating in the way it ground at his ears and annoying to listen to, he had to admit, he was right. Gods, he felt disgusting just thinking that! Vaguely he felt the notion to puke at the fact he'd ever even think that, but he kept it down, watching with bitter interest as he broke down his friend -could he call her that? He wasn't even sure- with disgusting words and vile promises.

However it all came to a stop when he realized what Bryce had said, the anger flaring up inside him far too great to ignore as he felt the shadows wrap around his figure, quickly imitating a tornado without his command. It grew in size, green flicks of light mixing to create a -frankly quite- creepy image, until the others noticed staring in shock.

Before they could run away though it exploded, covering the entire area in darkness that was impenetrable even by the glowing sun.

Reyna has been expecting many things, skeletons rising from the ground, pillars of dirt, maybe even making a ghost or ghoul possess someone for him (Nico), but this, this she'd never have expected in her entire life.

In the blink of an eye everything turned to black, and then she was back again except...she was somewhere strange. Somewhere she didn't recognize and knew this was definitely not where they were last. She tried to move her head to look around but she couldn't, instead she began to walk forward, quickly breaking into a run as the feeling of excitement filled her.

It was like she was being controlled by someone else, a puppet being moved with unknown strings. She didn't know why she felt the emotions coursing through her, but it almost felt like she was in someone else's body, seeing the world through someone else's eyes.

"Percy! Where's-" that was definitely not her voice and definitely not her words. She sounded young, voice high pitched like she hadn't gone through puberty, but even then she could tell it was boyish.

"Where's my sister? Where's Bianca?" The scene continued without her wishes and she saw a much younger version of Percy Jackson standing before her, clearly taller than whoever's body she'd accidentally taken hold of, but he wore a face of...sadness.

She didn't know much about the son of Poseidon but she knew one thing for sure, he usually looked quite...prideful, no that wasn't the word... excited when he'd finished a quest, not whatever...that was.

"..." he refused to look at Reyna, eyes diverting anywhere else as if he was ashamed.

Suddenly a feeling of realization dawned on her, it wasn't her own though, no, she was still quite confused, but it was quickly replaced by a burst of hatred and anger.

"Y-you promised! How could you?! You promised to keep her safe!" The rage turned to sadness as the brunette finally looked at her, eyes full of pity and face tired, and hugged the body she was in. However, the person didn't seem content with it at all, hitting the teens chest and crying heavy tears.

"I'm sorry Nico...I couldn't save her..." before she could recover from the shock and realization of whose -what she guessed were- memories she was whisked away into the next one.

A barren wasteland lay before her, a river of lava to her left as she walked forward slowly. Hunger pains pressed at her mind, she felt blood drip from multiple parts in her body and there was a visible pounding in her head.

Every step she took was heavy, as if it weighed a thousand tons, feet dragging across the floor as she practically cleared at the floor to keep going. Desperation filled her senses and suddenly she was fighting as well, tooth and nail to keep walking even though in the back of her head, she realized this had already happened which meant she couldn't actually change anything but that didn't stop her instincts from trying.

Suddenly she heard a strange sound from her left, if she could've she probably would've jumped but the body she was in didn't have enough energy to feel surprised, only pure raw desperation to make it out alive.

Instead Nico's body sluggishly turned its head, eyes widening a fraction when it saw a herd of at least eight monsters coming towards it. "Oh fuck me..." (s)he mumbled to herself tiredly.

Nico wasn't quite sure what had happened but when he opened his eyes he was confused -and still mildly enraged- to find everyone around him passed out of the ground, in what looked to be a dream like state.

If he has to be honest, he has no clue what he'd done, his powers were strange like that because they weren't really his. Like he could control them and make them do his bidding and stuff but the skeletons were from real people -same with the ghosts and ghouls- and that meant that if they wanted, they could pretty much do whatever they wanted. They weren't obligated to do what he said (well they sort of were 'cause of his dad but still) so you couldn't blame him for staring at good hands for a good minute or two in shock.

When he finally realized his situation he moved quickly, grappling eager shadows to his control as they plunged into the hearts of the guards, watching the blood jump out of them in a twisted sense of glee he hadn't felt beforehand.

With a cruel sense of Justice flowing through his veins he stood over Bryce, reached out the hand that wasn't holding his sword to grasp onto the other's soul and, with the grip of a Titan, pulled down. Inevitably, the owner's body went with it, the ground opening to swallow it whole before it resealed itself as though nothing had ever happened.

Turning away he took a step towards his companions but stopped, glancing back momentarily as he debated whether or not to finish the job. Whatever, might as well get rid of a future inconvenience.

With a shrug he grabbed the soul with all five fingers and crushed it in his palm. A sickening smile crossed his face at the sound before he passed out as well.
